Prediction of next Rangers trade

If you can get Step and Zucc under the cap, no trades have to be made. Without Hags and Step the Rangers will need the Pyatts and such to hang around to deepen the squad up front. Trading Boyle is silly unless its for some real value. You can finally slot him into a role he is perfect for so he doesnt have to play above his head. The Rangers finally have some depth in the forward department and now we want to get rid of it because we have a couple redundant pieces?

Its good to go into camp with numbers, and well see how the first half of the season transpires with a new coach and system. Then it will be easier to identify who should go and what the needs are. We cant base it solely on what we saw in Torts' system on a different team in a different season.

Slater Koekoek? I want him for his last name alone.

Yeah I think my subconscious remembered that the Rangers liked him in his draft year and heard him on the radio the other day.

Anyways, a weird trade dream, but not the weirdest I've ever had.

We can't sign Stepan, sent to Calgary for huge package centered around Baertschi

I'm going to say

Boyle + Zuccarello

for

Glencross and a 3rd.

I think it won't be long until the Rangers realize Zucc doesn't fit this team. Boyle will be replaced by Lindberg. Glencross will be wasting his time on the lousy Flames. Unlike Boyle, he actually uses his size consistently.

The next one is gonna be something ****ing stupid. Sather has had way too many consecutive solid moves recently. He's overdue for a backbreaking mistake.

Yeah but stupid moves are the norm. Stats revert to the norm.

The Sather norm trades are not bad. He's done really good. You're not ALWAYS good, and you're not ALWAYS bad. He made a not so good trade for Clowe and the Korpikoski trade wasn't good either. The jury is still out on the Nash trade, but I wouldn't have done it looking back. Again, we'll see.

He generally has gotten the job done when it comes to trades.

Sather trades, Gorton signs. The force is balanced.

Just wait and see.

Seriously though, I don't really see anything happening. Maybe a couple minor salary dumps. Maybe Sather swindles a GM out of someone who can actually play hockey, for MDZ.

Also, I am completely against the trading of Boyle, unless it's a package deal for the right price.

Dan Boyle at the trade deadline.

As long as the Sharks are in contention I don't see it even though his name was linked to us this past deadline.

I would also hate to lose one of Lindberg, Miller, Fast or Kreider that it'll inevitably take for 20 games and a few playoff games of a 37 year old defenseman. With Torts gone, I especially don't see it.

I'm against trading DZ period. I don't completely understand trading him unless we're upgrading the first line. It's gotta be a really good trade for us if I was the GM.

It seems a lot of this trade talk is because we have depth at defense. That's a great problem to have and that's something we should continue to have while we have it. I have more trust in Del Zotto being our offensive defenseman than anyone in this team or organization now and in the future. I'd start worrying about his defensive play when he's 26 and 27. Not at 23.

Boyle makes or break our fourth line this year. His overall game is more important than anyone that'll be there.

Hey, I'd love to see what he could become in a few years. But right now he has value (real value, not f'ing Pyatt), and that could just as easily diminish in the next few years, as it could grow.

So, do you send DZ+ for a LW? Our weakness isn't defense, it's depth on the wings. And losing DZ doesn't make defense an issue, IMO, (Probably makes our defense better, bu-dum-TSH). There is a chance that his value is higher now than it might ever be; say his piss-poor performance continues through next season, do you have any idea how much his value will be reduced?

Realistically, how much worse would this team be without him? They would no doubt be noticeably better with a Top 6 LW in his place. Something that simple has a domino effect throughout the lineup: now we have Hagelin on the 3rd line, and when players are right where they should be, your team will do a lot better.

I'm not 100% one way or the other on Del Zotto, these are just my thoughts on the possibly of trading him. Look at the Goligoski / Neal trade. PIT traded an excess for a need, and Goligoski didn't become all that much.
