I could see Corrado making another waiver wire appearance. He's just doesn't exceed at anything very well

How's Kichton been doing? A handful of Isles fans were upset they never signed him.

I wouldn't worry about it. Defense is the reason the moose were so poor last year. He has decent offense but his defense is echl level.

Depending on how the forward corps shakeout for the Blueshirts, Clendening may get the axe.

RE: NYR
yeah, Clendening is likely D most at risk, Skjei may stick w big club

NHL: McDonagh, Girardi, Staal, Klein, Holden, McIlrath

Waiver Eligible: Clendening , Summers, Bodie, Hughes

Waiver Exempt: Skjei, Paliotta, Graves, Andersson, Donnay, Gilmour

+ + + + + + + + +

as vipernsx notes, NYR roster\waiver challenge is up front

18 candidates,
the only ones waiver exempt are the (anticipated) stud rookies
Buchnevich and Vesey

most likely waiver NYR Fs: Glass, Hrivik, Jensen, Gerbe
Lindberg will start season on IR, but his eventual return could push another guy onto waivers

40/70 threshold?

He will play over 40, and will play under 70?

I think gilbert will surprise king fans Dean seems to get lucky with players coming off injuries (williams gaborik( to a degree) handzus ) I am hoping he can rotate into top 4 with mcnabb I also don't see folin in a 4 spot

Gilbert is pretty underrated, he was very solid on the Habs on our third pairing. Not a guy you'd want full-time in your top 4, but if injuries happen he can fill in and look decent.

that is what i was thinking the way sutter blenders the lines he would do the same with mcnabb and gilbert switching them depending on who is playing better gets the top 4 spot

Ducks will probably have to waive Holzer unless another ANA dman is dealt. Stoner could be waived, but he wouldn't be sent down (again dependent on a potential trade).

I'm betting Prosser gets waived over Folin. After last season and if he plays the way he's expected in camp I think Reilly makes the team. Waiver exempt or not. Prosser will likely clear, and who cares if he doesn't. Folin probably would too, but chances are less likely.

I'm thinking Reilly starts in Iowa to play top pairing minutes, then gets called up/sent down for injuries. Reilly/Folin don't become better players sitting in the pressbox. Iowa shouldn't be the tire fire it's been the last couple of years.

Prosser is a good, break glass in-case of emergancy, 7D. He's older and has been in the pressbox, it takes a different mindset (like a pinch-hitter in baseball). He probably would pass through waivers easily.

Folin would be snatched up on waivers. Young, big, cheap, RHD who would be a #6 on a lot of teams.

Joke's on him then, IIRC he wanted 2nd round money for a 5th round pick. Sounds like he can't cut it.

He had some insanely stat padded season right before we let him go, and he wanted big time money for it. Someone forgot to tell him he was a 20 year old playing against 16-18 year olds, and that was the only reason he did so well.

You're guys upped the ante by selecting Lukas sutter. But then again we picked him in the 2nd. He didn't even play pro hockey last year.

I'm not trying to single you out, but I keep seeing stuff like this from Kings fans and it blows my mind. What exactly about Gravel's whopping 5 NHL games makes him a stud? He's a meh 24 year old who is still waiver eligible.

Kings fans always get excited about their prospect defensemen. They have had a number of great ones over the years, so they tend to know what to look for. There have been a couple that haven't hit the upside that Kings fans thought possible (Forbort comes to mind), but I think every fanbase has a lot of prospects like that. I haven't seen this Gravel kid play, but if Kings fans like his gameplay, I think its safe to say that he is a good prospect.

Man, he sucked. I thought he'd at least produce in the AHL. Couldn't even produce in the ECHL.

He had an injury and I think it basically destroyed his game. He was awful in junior after he came back from it too.

I'm a Kings fan myself. He's just ok. He's no stud. I still think Forbort is better, which isn't saying much.

Watched both of them live in Ontario last season playing top pair minutes (only 19 games but still). Gravel had a visibly elevated compete level every single shift, he's creative in his playmaking and has a mean side. Forbort is about as steady as they come and a better skater but he's a softie. both aren't that exciting and I agree that both are only "ok" right now. neither can play mcnabb out of his spot and like you said above "which isn't saying much."

I thought maybe Ryan Sproul for Detroit, But seeing that both Kronwall and Ericsson are hurting i could see Holland go with 8 D-men instead of 7 to start the season. Maybe go with 13 Forwards 8 Defenseman 2 Goaltenders would be my guess with Ouellet and Sproul being added to the D.

For Detroit right now probably just Nick Jensen. I think that Sproul might be safe for now with Kronwall and Ericsson hurting.

For Detroit going with Sroul and Jensen. Even though i still hope that Sproul makes the team somehow.

I'm confused.

Nate Prosser. Let the waiver war over him begin!

Actually, if I'm being honest, I don't think the Wild will have one. Every defender that requires waivers is someone they can use (even as a 7th defenseman, Nate), and every defender that doesn't require waivers is someone that could probably use at least some AHL time.

I guess if he shows up and does absolutely horribly, Christian Folin, but that seems like a very large reach.
