Predators now have a wait list for season tickets

I was told tonight at the game that assuming all season ticket holders buy playoff tickets and the wait listers do, they are sold out of playoff tickets. There will be zero available for the general public.

It's a great story, and teams with a wait list definitely have an advantage. That said, it's all relative. For example, the Golden State Warriors waitlist is at 50,000. But like most things in life/sports, a few bad seasons could change things, whereas they're out begging people to buy tickets.

What has helped the Preds is they are really the only "good" team in the state. The Titans overall suck, and all the college teams around suck.

Umm, not to be "that guy" but this doesn't imply they've sold out their season tickets. Its just a wait list to purchase season seats for next season after the current holders have renewed. Considering the amount of the deposit, its basically an early purchase of next years season tickets.
Isn’t this how all “waiting lists” work? I am missing something? Toronto, Montreal waiting lists work the same way, if someone doesn’t renew then the 1st name on the list is used.

But aren't the Titans like a religion in Tennessee? I thought it was football 24/7.
No the Titans have become the 2nd team in the state behind the Predators.
College football is followed as a religion but the Vols suck (thankfully I have never liked them) worse than Vanderbilt. The Titans lost the fans not because they lost football games but they refused to treat the fans like paying customers and more like puppets. That’s why the Predators failed to garner support for the 1st decade.

Well it's not great news for the fans.....This means prices are going to skyrocket now. Good for the league and team though.

Playoff invoices came out today and they are double that of last year.

Ouch.

fair weather fans...once the team is not good anymore they will go back to empty seats

As opposed to Chicago or Boston which had empty seats prior to their Cups. Predators sold out last year and was not in the playoffs until the last week of the season. So the whole “fair weather” comments are totally factual.

We haven't been below 95% attendance since '10-11 when we had 94.3%. You obviously have no idea what you're talking about.
Year-Attendance%-Standings
17-18-100.7% Top five in league
16-17-100.3% T15th
15-16-99.2 T13
14-15-98.5% 6th
13-14-97% 19th
12-13-99.2% 27th
11-12-97.5% 5th
10-11-94.3 10th
09-10-87.5% 10th
08-09-87.7% 20th
07-08-87.1% 17th

I don’t think they were 27th at 99.2% in 12-13 were they. But it’s not been since Leipold owned the team that attendance was below 95%
Philly, Edmonton, Calgary and New York Rangers all have empty seats this year. Are they also fair weather fans?
Not to mention how bad Chicago was once along with other teams. It’s really the only way fans can show displeasure with ownership and management. If you watched an awful movie do you go to every sequel if you hear they were just as bad? How about if you eat a at terrible restaurant do you keep going back?

This is a wait list to buy tickets for next season. Its saying put a deposit down for season seats next season. The Toronto and Montreal wait lists are to buy tickets in a decade.
Did those waiting lists not start the same way? It’s a wait list after all the renewals happen so if there are 1000 on it and only 500 spots available the other 500 rolls into next year add another 1000 to the 500 and it compounds into longer and longer and eventually into what Toronto and Montreal have. The fact that a team 2 decades in does not have the lists that teams a century old is not some thing unusual those teams only have a 80 year head start.

The Cubs didn't do this.

Signed,

Brewers fan who watched the Cubs while they were rebuilding.
Check again. It's not really something to be proud of, but the Cubs were Top 10 even in the crap years, attendance and percentage-wise.

It was literally the thing people made fun of us most about until a few years ago. "Cubs fans don't watch baseball, they all go to Wrigley to drink and party."

Doesn't matter, it's me driving the thread off topic anyway.

Being on the list doesn't guarantee there will be tickets to purchase available next season. I guess it all depends of what current STH do at the ''renewal date deadline''.

No it’s not really driving it off topic as the Cubs are the perfect example of the Predators atmosphere and what they have been able to sell. “Come to the game and have fun and cheer on the team and have a great time”. Wins and loses are secondary and the fun is what is sold. It’s just that the winning has drove up the demand for tickets and the atmosphere has gotten more intense and fun.

You said some teams still fill the place up when they stink. Attendance at Wrigley Field fell nearly 400,000 in a two year span during the rebuild.
