You didn't post a by game breakdown. Its just as flawed as your earlier assertion that he played less than 100 minutes with a top 6 player. The math shows more than two minutes per game on average with at least one top six player ... it only takes 88 minutes of TOI and his time with and without Joey equals more than that. That is also only 5on5, not 4on4 so not all ES situations.

The youngster that has a pretty solid grip on that slot is Parssinen ... one of several kids in Milwaukee who are equal to, or outperforming Tomasino ... which if we hold the same standard means you must say it's a Karl coaching issue ... or does that only apply when you can use it against Hynes?

The one detail you fail to address is that goals for column ... Forsberg's goals per 60 at 5on5 was higher on average without Tomasino than with him. Not dogging, just noting detail.
Dude you can post whatever stat you want but I’m not posting your argument for you.

And your opinion that my points aren’t of value to you are fine with me. I’m not seeking your approval. In fact I’m adding back to that list with the dude from Atlanta.

Nice strawman. Take something I didn't say then argue against it. The flaw is you post numbers that simply don't hold up to the facts. You made a claim of his total time with "top 6" forwards that didn't match what he played with just Joey ... then you choose to say he didn't play 2 minutes with top 6 per game in a cherry picked set of 44 games only to post an image showing him with more than 2 minutes on average across those games.

Again, noteworthy how you ignore that top six partners simply did not score when Tomasino was with them. Tomasino got points as a 4th line winger against lower tier competition but lines with him and Joey or Granny at center simply did not score at a comparable rate as to when he was out.

ETA:
Comparing Tomasino with each center ... and only that center ... ES as a whole. Total on ice scoring with those offensive pairings -
Whole team with Tomasino and McCarron - 17 goals in 245:16
" " " Tomasino and Johansen - 7 goals in 212:27
" " " Tomasino and Granlund - 2 goals in 60:27
" " " Tomasino and Sissons - 2 goals in 42:34
" " " Tomasino without any of those three - 7 goals in 207:46

So in over 270 minutes with the top two centers alongside Tomasino, the Preds scored 9 goals.

By the grace of God we are now occupying the final Wild Card slot.
Until Minnesota finishes their win over Edmonton tonight and we end up in a tiebreaker situation ... that won't matter until April. The horrible run after returning from Prague seems behind the team with a 6-3-1 record over the last 10 ( 9-5-1 over the last 15) . Things are going in the right direction for now.

So in reference to the win last night, got me to thinking- when was the last time we tied a game in an empty net, 6 on 5 situation???

I'm sure I probably am forgetting an obvious one, but it feels like it has been a LONG time and I honestly can't remember one. I know it has been a rare occurrence the past couple of years.

I do remember a game in Carolina when we scored TWO 6 on 5 goals, but we were down by 3 in that game, so did not tie it.

Thought it was funny- we usually can't sniff a goal in that situation even with a full 2+ minutes of 6 on 5 and last night we get one when we had less than 45 seconds on the 6 on 5

Most of the time it only takes about 15 seconds for us to ALLOW the empty net goal to seal the L.

I've been trying to look it up- anyone know the last time we did it??

our only other 6on5 this year is Glass's goal against LA ... with Saros pulled before a penalty. I haven't looked back through last season's 6on5 goals.

If I looked things up correctly I believe it would be 2/4/21 where we actually scored two goals with our net empty (including one on the powerplay so 6 on 4) before going on to win it in OT. I actually don't have any recollection of this game but here's the highlights.

I do remember that game- in looking up the box score, we scored with 2:06 left and scored the tying goal with 57 seconds left (although it was on a PP, so actually a 6 on 4)

So although we did not tie it at 6 on 5, I am guessing that is the last time we tied a game in the final minute.

That is a LONG time to go without doing that. Going on two full years.

Pardon me for not having much patience for absurd hyperbole about the guy being a slight overager - especially since that's also true of literally every single player in that list save Beck.

EDIT: @ShagDaddy beat me to it by a few seconds :)
Good thing we didn't think of Tanner Jeannot being to oaf to join the Preds team...

Hey guys , does anyone have any idea why Forsberg has played less than 14 min in the last 2 games for the preds? Maybe he's nursing an injury? Doesn't seem very normal to play a star so few min. I've looked to see if any one else has mentioned this and I can't find any info.

Well we now have a tenuous claim on the #1 wild card. We also have the best last 10 of any of the teams in the hunt. Next game is against Tampa on Thursday.

2 games against edmonton in mid December. Not looking forward to watching draisaitl destroy us like normal

This creates two more back to back situations in already tightly compressed part of the schedule. For those worried about Lankinen starts, this is two for him ... not the one he would have had originally.

And yet we don't play again til Thursday of this week. Whoever makes schedules adds in some very strange gaps.
