Movies: Predator: Badlands (November 7th)

“Predator: Badlands” stars Elle Fanning as Thia, a woman living on a remote planet that befriends a young Predator (Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi) who is an outcast from his clan. Together, they “embark on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary,” as the official synopsis reads. “Prey” director Dan Trachtenberg helms the film, with Patrick Aison penning the screenplay.

I think Campea Crew reported at CinemaCon that Elle Fanning's character is an A.I. or robot. Possibly Weyland synthetic.

Yeah, this doesn't look very promising to me. There's way too much CGI. I'm thinking that the director didn't understand why Prey was well received. It's because the premise was simple and grounded, like the 1987 movie. It was a throwback. This looks more like the rest of the CGI-fests that we see in mainstream movies these days.

I think I'll give it a shot, as I'm a fan of the Yautja/Xenomorph lore...but the casting of Elle Fanning is a bit strange. She doesn't seem like the action/sci-fi type

It's literally something fans have been craving for: a Predator centric movie.

Not this fan... and fans craved the AvP movies, but those showed that getting what you want doesn't always mean getting something good.

I do think the Predator series has potential. Lots of stuff you can do with it as long as you keep it relatively simple as we saw with Prey.

But this looks terrible.

This director has a proven track record with the franchise. And the feedback for the trailer has been unanimously positive.
One movie isn't really a proven track record, and the feedback for the trailer hasn't been unanimously positive. It has 8.6K dislikes and three people here don't feel positive about it. It may be a minority, but that doesn't invalidate the opinions.

Over 6 million views on that channel and 83K LIKES. That's unanimous..

Also, it's clear people here were looking at their phones and not actually watching the trailer BECAUSE NO ONE NOTICED THE INDEPENCE DAY ALIEN SKULL IN THE BEGINNING!

No, unanimous means complete agreement. For example, when all jurors or justices agree on a verdict, it's a unanimous verdict. If even just one disagrees, it's not. 90% positive reception to the trailer is not unanimous, but it is overwhelming, which may be the word that you were looking for.

According to Steiner math, the numbers don't lie when the likes outweigh the dislikes by tenfold, it's unanimous.

Man.... you'll just argue through words' meaning just to try being right. That's not only pathetic, it's shameful (we can't make political arguments here, so I'll keep it at that).

Some people think this movie looks like garbage. A smelly pile of shit. I'm sure you can live with that. You didn't make the damn thing, right? Just man up and don't cry, it's all going to be ok.

Osprey's right on both counts. It's not unanimous (it sure isn't here), and the guy doesn't have a track record.

(I, for one, think the film looks like a blast, but the franchise has proven to be very unequal, so I'll wait)

I made a wrestling a reference as a joke! And YOU PEOPLE worked yourselves into a shoot and can't work yourselves out of it!

Sneider says Elle Fanning is playing "twin synths" in the movie (which Dan Trachtenberg had admitted apparently) AND that Fede Alavarez's script of the follow up to Alien: Romulus, has a Predator in it.
