Why the surprise? Some notable media outlets have him starting the season on our second pairing.

i don't pay attention to media outlets , they are writers, bloggers , promoters etc... but sure the heck ain't hockey experts . Also if one of our media wrote bad things about our players prospects their access to the team would be cut off , they are to be sunshine and roses writers .

I've thought of that. Niku has played the right side, at least a little. But you don't want to hang that on a rookie trying to learn to play the defensive side of his game. I don't know if Kuli has done it much before or not but he probably could. Trouble with that is it means Myers is paired with Buff.
