since this is the pre-season I wonder what the stress about the result is.

I think this is a great idea.

gives Maurice a chance to see what the young players are like against an almost full nhl lineup.

if a goalie is going to get lit up, I prefer it to be comrie, than the new guy.

My thoughts exactly...

Though wise of management to isolate them both...

Should be interesting to watch...

A real test for both. I'm prepared to be pleasantly surprised, disappointed or validated.
Seriously, hope they both do well. If not, not. We will have a better idea of where they are.

What? I didn't know until someone posted it either. Are we not supposed to post anything until we check with someone first? It's innocent.

Is buff out for sure?

The lineup is posted in the OP, and I posted the lines on the first page.

Apparently we have a problem with posting before reading on the Jets forum :naughty:;) (just messing with you if the wink didn't come across properly lol)

Mo mentioned most of the vets will be in home games. So prob tomorrow if Buff and Kuli are good to go. Buff likes to play a lot of preseason iirc.

We likely will get "thumped" pretty good by the Oilers, considering their icing all their star players--like McDavid etc. We are icing mostly our wannabe prospects, and a very shaky Goaltender in Comrie. I guess the Oilers can have a little fun beating us in the short term, but we'll see them down the road--"when it counts" :)

I posted the details about Petan because I remembered you shaming Holden over his opinion on Chiarot, a little ironic that considering your transparent dislike for Petan.

You saw that he was a "healthy scratch" and that fit your confirmation bias for a player and jumped on the opportunity to rag on him; the same as you've accused people of doing with Chiarot recently.
I'll admit that I was laser quick to give up on Petan after just one game back but I honestly did not see anything that told me this go round would be any different than what we've seen from him to this point.

I guess time will tell. Sucks that he has this to deal with on top of the pressure he must be feeling right now.

Nic Petan pre-season playing bad as expected. 70% Corsi, +1 5v5 GD.
Logan Stanley pre-season playing surprisingly good. 59% Corsi, +0 5v5 GD.

One game is one game is one game, but funny nonetheless.
It's all about expectations... Petan is the 23 year old underappreciated star in waiting and Stanley is the oversized 20 year old draft blunder that exposed everything that's wrong about the Jets scouting and management...

These types of preseason games are always tough to grade young guys on. If they do great they deserve credit if they get burnt by McDavid it's tough to hold it against them. I expect Comrie to get peppered.

Yeah, their top 6 and AHL vs our probable bottom 6 and AHL. Maybe we'll shock the hockey world lol.

Saw oilers in Vancouver the other night. Other than poolparty no one really stood out. I thought Yamamoto was disappointing. But am sure he will pick it up vs jets.

We were pretty high in the nosebleeds so not the best views.

Worth pointing out we only dressed our bottom six and two NHL defencemen that game. Not much TO stand out other than Ty Rattie having a solid game without McDavid vs a largely NHL lineup.

Ryan McLeod’s been impressive for us, he’s getting a look with Khaira/Puljujarvi.

Good luck tonight - curious to see Vesalainen and Niku.

With the Oilers basically icing their "A" team while the Jets are using about 1 forward line & 1 D pairing of what are expected to be regulars I'm most interested in seeing how Lowry & friends cope with the RNH/McDavid/Rattie line. With Trouba & Morrissey backing them it'll be something to watch.
That leaves the question of who stops the Draisaitl line so our AHL & junior players have their work cut out for them.

I'd imagine LGD will go up against the 2nd line and Mo will try to get Rosie's line into an easier matchup. Tough to matchup on the road though so it's likely Rosie out against Draisaitl.
