Pre-Game Talk: PRE-ECF Thread (B/C Why not?)

Trust me. As a 66 yr old Raleigh native that sentiment is never far from my mind. This guy is one of the more decent Yanquis. Not obnoxious and sings the praises of NC and the south unlike the NJ ******* down the street who says everything is better up north yet continues to tell all his friends and relatives to move down here.

Nobody retires and moves up north

Regarding the schedule, the Western Conference plays into it as well, since they're not going to want to have an ECF and WCF game on the same day if they can help it. So the fact that we don't know *either* WC team yet is probably why we haven't seen a schedule yet.

Meanwhile, we got approx 1 hour before game 1 and the promise of a back to back game 6 and 7 with travel lol. NHL is a mess.

Anyway, it is what it is--glad we finally got some rest--we'll need it!

No doubt? The Bruins are the most complete team the Canes have faced. On the season, WSH was better overall offensively than the Bruins and Isles were better overall defensively, but Boston was pretty good in both categories and had better balance.

Regular season:

GF: Caps 5th, Bos 11th, Car 16th, NYI 22nd
GA: NYI 1st, Bos 3rd, Car 8th, WSH 17th

Canes stunk during Oct-Dec though and finally put it together in late Dec (and added Nino in Jan).
Since Jan 1:
GF: Car 2nd, Bos 6th, Wsh 11th, NYI 24th
GA: NYI 1st, Bos 7th, Car 11th, WSH 20th

IMO, Boston is the most complete team of all of these teams when looking at offense, defense, depth, goaltending, special teams, plus they have home ice advantage.

I'm not saying the Canes can't win, but saying "no doubt we are the better team" is a bit of a stretch to me.
Thanks for the info

Caught my neighbor (a Mass. native) this morning changing his Canes license plate to Bruins while his kids - he in #14 Black, she in #20 red - gave him hell. I had to join in. He's a Canes fan save for when they play Boston. He says it's in his genes...
Ha, yeah sounds about right. I can't make the switch for my NFL or MLB teams, but the flip side is I don't really follow those sports anymore either. I have no problem pulling for the Panthers to do well as my NFC team, but it will be a damn cold day in hell before you ever see me pulling for the Braves.
