Regarding the schedule, the Western Conference plays into it as well, since they're not going to want to have an ECF and WCF game on the same day if they can help it. So the fact that we don't know *either* WC team yet is probably why we haven't seen a schedule yet.

No doubt we are the better team.

No doubt? The Bruins are the most complete team the Canes have faced. On the season, WSH was better overall offensively than the Bruins and Isles were better overall defensively, but Boston was pretty good in both categories and had better balance.

Regular season:

GF: Caps 5th, Bos 11th, Car 16th, NYI 22nd
GA: NYI 1st, Bos 3rd, Car 8th, WSH 17th

Canes stunk during Oct-Dec though and finally put it together in late Dec (and added Nino in Jan).
Since Jan 1:
GF: Car 2nd, Bos 6th, Wsh 11th, NYI 24th
GA: NYI 1st, Bos 7th, Car 11th, WSH 20th

IMO, Boston is the most complete team of all of these teams when looking at offense, defense, depth, goaltending, special teams, plus they have home ice advantage.

I'm not saying the Canes can't win, but saying "no doubt we are the better team" is a bit of a stretch to me.

Patrice is a just a French version of Jordan

Change my mind.

I think you might be on to something. The French use the metric system and in Carolina, we don't. So if we divide Bergeron's offense / 2.54 (cm to IN conversion):

32 Goals/2.54 = 12 goals
79 Points / 2.54 = 31 points

Jordan Staal had 11 goals and 28 points this year. :amazed:

Do the canes ever do anything about blocking opposition fans from purchasing playoff tickets?

Dallas is doing it right now against St. Louis. Lots of others have done it in the past, too.
I'm sure we could attempt to block people that have basically any New England area code from buying but it wouldn't be that effective. A ton of us that lived in the area have moved to NC and have been here for a decade or two now. Some of us made the switch from our original teams to the Canes, some didn't, and some just stuck with them since they were Whalers fans to begin with.

Caught my neighbor (a Mass. native) this morning changing his Canes license plate to Bruins while his kids - he in #14 Black, she in #20 red - gave him hell. I had to join in. He's a Canes fan save for when they play Boston. He says it's in his genes...

I really don't have anything against boston to be honest--philly (as a whole) and I guess now the Caps are way higher on my personal list. I mean, obviously, I don't like the Red Sox, but bleh....lol.

That being said, I'm expecting a dumpster fire dealing with some of the fans on social media. I'd love to be wrong though.

At least facing Boston, I guess that will force more people to acknowledge there is actually hockey in Hartford ahem checks notes ahem I mean Raleigh.

Yankee go home sign you need

Trust me. As a 66 yr old Raleigh native that sentiment is never far from my mind. This guy is one of the more decent Yanquis. Not obnoxious and sings the praises of NC and the south unlike the NJ asshole down the street who says everything is better up north yet continues to tell all his friends and relatives to move down here.
