He was, by far and away, the best Canadian defenceman as a draft eligible player for the world junior team in the games he played. That is incredibly rare.

You're not getting a prospect like Tij for KK unless there's some sort of risk involved like this, unfortunately
While I’m not a big fan of Korchinski, I think people here are undervaluing him compared to what another organization/GM would. He’s got skills and a couple of years of development…further along the path towards respectable young experienced NHL dman, expected to continue improving, not expected to make a big impact for another 2-4 years. A defenseman prospect on the cusp like him is more difficult to find than a winger like Iginla.

KK for Iginla would be considered a hockey trade for each organization if one has a surplus of dmen and the other has a surplus of forwards in their respective prospect pools, and the timelines fit.
