Josh Anderson would seem to fit the bill.

Maybe expand it to something that also sends Edmundson as a LHD to replace Gavrikov if he walks? Send someone like Durzi as a RHD to Montreal, along with something else?

LAK: Durzi, +???

MTL: Anderson, Edmundson.

Would probably have to include Cal Petersen to make the cap work.

Not exactly sure what L.A has that would make me want to pull the trigger on Anderson but Durzi ain’t it. Petersen is a no go especially since Montreal has Allen & Montembault already locked in goal.

I'd definitely be down for a deal around Durzi for Anderson. Would definitely need to add cap going the other way maybe Iafallo or in a perfect world Petersen. I think Edmundson could be a good fit on the bottom pairing with Clarke.

As said above, Anderson is just fine here and Durzi is a non starter as the main piece coming back. You can get away with getting Edmundson for a pick though

If Anderson is to go to LA, it has to mean something useful in the long run for the Habs rebuild is coming back. Durzi ain't it.

That being said, Durzi for Edmundson at 50% might make sense, while having zero impact on the Kings from a salary point of view. It's possible retention would mean LA throws in a mid-round pick or something.

Then you should keep Durzi and continue to be soft and porous on the D-end.

It's less that he's trash though and more that LA's RHD depth chart is Doughty-Roy then Durzi and Walker but they're blocking Clarke and Spence. so we are presuming 1-2 guys need to go and finding a way to turn RHDs into tougher equivalent LHDs or PWFs.

Agreed that he needs to be used in the right role, ie he's a 4-6 dman who can munch minutes and be a PP specialist with the right partner.

I wouldn't be THRILLED about this so that means it's probably fair and makes sense, haha.

Just sign Bertuzzi. He may not be huge but he’s very physically effective. Does good work in tight spaces and battles for every puck, often winning. Has plus hands to boot and scores a ton within 5 feet of the net.
I would love Bertuzzi, but the Kings need to clear out some salary in order to afford him unfortunately.

The guy has been at a 40pts pace all of his time in MTL despite playing on bottom dweller teams

He has three seasons of 24, 32, and 32 points with the Habs. Saying that he’s missed 13 games each of the past two seasons isn’t a positive.

Iafallo in 6 seasons has more career points than Anderson in 9 seasons, and people on the Kings board hate Iafallo. Anderson is not a trade target that LA should be considering.

Josh Anderson for Byfield

Done deal :sarcasm:

Weird that Hughes would intentionally harm his team’s rebuild by holding back trading a player who doesn’t fit their timeline then. That, or what he said wasn’t true. Which one is it?

Ten minutes later, still not a Kings fan.

Wasn’t Edmunson worth a 1st according to you folks? What happened to that?

Lots of players could score 20 goals and drop the gloves once a season if force-fed minutes on a basement dweller. That again does not translate into value, especially at his cap hit.

Well I am not the brilliant Kent Hughes, who took a ten point forward 1st overall, so no I guess I don’t.
They definitely would move Anderson lol

If this is what the Kings are truly after, I could see them go sign Miles Wood for and then be incredibly disappointed.

Shouldn't the Kings like target a defensive player?
If they keep Gavrikov the top 4 is fine, they would just need to get a steady #5 to play with Brandt Clarke on the bottom pair like Soucy or Edmundson. I think the Kings have too many redundant undersized water bug type guys with Arvidsson, Moore, Lizotte, Iafallo. They need to add some size to their forward core to give the team a different dimension. We're far too susceptible to being bullied right now. If you wanna give us Max Jones that'd be cool ;)
Pierre Luc Dubois
I'd love PLD on the Kings he's pretty much the exact Style I'd be looking for. The 2 main problems I see though is that adding him basically cements Byfield as a winger for the foreseeable future and I think the organization wants him to be a center, 2nd I don't think we'd be able to afford him cap wise until Kopitars 10 million comes off the books. Would absolutely love PLD on the Kings though. Kopitar, PLD, and Danault down the middle would be unreal in the short term.

I’m the antithesis of a Kings fan lol. Durzi is flawed sure but even he is not “top six forward who struggles to hit 35 points at $5.5M a year” flawed. No one is giving you value for this player, just deal with it.
We are quite happy in keeping him. He fills a role for us. Deal with that.
