as bad as the team is now, with center depth as it stands, getting rid of dickinson would make it so much worse. particularly if we're married to getting rid of donato.

Nucks ain't doing that.
They're backed into a corner.

Something like that may wind up the best offer available.

If you're getting Pettersson, who gives a shit about Dickinson and Donato?

i wasn't responding to your delusional fantasy trade proposal because it doesn't warrant a response, but if you're going to twist my arm;

on the off chance that the planets align and something this miraculously unlikely occurs and you get a first line center for basically three seconds, a prospect, and two bottom six mercensaries, then yeah of course you don't worry that much about the center depth anymore. anymore shocking news of the world to share today?

I'm proud of you for not including Reichel in the deal. I know that took a lot of self control.

daily face off has seth Jones # 8 stats sounds like talk has picked up. Murph #14 not sure if he is aware of his groin aliment. Donato at #17. of interest to the hawks might be Jack quinn and dylan couzins from buffalo. I would add dikenson and kurashev as other possibities. along with maroon and Martinez. Jones 25% retained kurashev and torontos 1st for quinn and cozens?

Kurashev has zero trade value at this moment.

Hopeful that the organization has come to its senses that Jones is not part of the long term plans.

Scoop: Do the massive salary cap increases agreed upon between the NHL and NHLPA make it easier for the Hawks to move Jones? Maybe. At $9.5 million, Jones will count for just 8 percent of the cap three seasons from now. Yes, he will be 33 then, but he is such a gifted and effortless skater there shouldn’t be any concern on the age curve chart. Jones has averaged 25:18 over four seasons in Chicago. He is a fine defenseman, just an overpaid one, and the Blackhawks are willing to be creative to move a player who doesn’t necessarily line up with their timeline. Sounds like talks are picking up on that front.

My current daydream scenario is the Avs saying f*** it, and going absolutely all in.

Mittelstadt, Drury, Gulyayev, 1st for JT Miller
Manson, Wood, Ritchie for Seth Jones @7M.

Drouin - MacKinnon - Necas
Lehkonen - Miller - Nichushkin
Parssinen - Ross - O'Connor
Kiviranta - Kelly - Wagner

Toews - Makar
Girard - Jones
Middleton - Malinski

It would make sense to go all in for this right? Right?!

Honeslty, I would be willing to trade Jones for absolute scrap parts like Malinski, Kylington, Wagner whatever combo if we managed to get Ritchie in the process. Retain heavily too. Also just to get rid of Jones finally, jesus christ.

One can dream.
If you're taking 4.5 years of Wood @ $2.5M and 1.5 years of Manson @ $4.5M I wouldn't think you would need to also retain on Seth Jones.

Agree taking back Wood and Manson is essentially eating some ( fairly large chunk actually) of Jones salary near term (as Manson is a negative value contract for sure and Wood probably slightly) to get the AVs down the road to the large cap increases to cover the back half of Jones. I really like Ritchie (doubt Avs would actually move him), but he is not worth THAt much retention on Jones plus taking those contracts, particularly Manson.

Seth Jones @ 7 million is worth multiple 1st (particularly the capital contenders have to offer which is late firsts) and the Avs won;t have their 1st this year meaning we are now trading for future 1sts.

I would throw in a later 2nd or Donato to get Ritchie in the orginal idea of Manson Woods, Ritchie for Jones (but no retention).

I don't see how Buffalo works. They have Dahlin and Power on the right side already and it's not like SJ is going to play 3rd pairing minutes. He's probably too stubborn as a veteran to even consider moving to the left side for a younger guy.

That said, I'm all for a Jones/Cozens swap of sorts if you can do it without any retention.
