For some reason I thought it was longer than that. If I am KD and bailing VAN out on that deal, I am not paying 100% of peak value. If that means the Hawks don't get EP, I am fine with that.

At the draft ...use our Toronto pick in round one (currently #28 plus our own 2nd to move back up to mid-first round area for a target we like ...or if we get a first for Mrazek use both that 1st and the Toronto 1st in a package to move up higher than just mid-first (10-13???)..

I think we should keep Mrazek for now. He hasn't played all that well lately and he might get fully healthy and find his game next year. Then I'd try to trade him next year as I'd much rather end up with a 26 1st than a 25 1st for him.

I doubt we get a 1st for him period but if those are my 2 choices, I'd say wait.

With almost every team close to a playoff spot, it's looking like a seller's market at the deadline. So even though the Hawks don't have too many appealing pieces, they might get quite a bit because there won't be many players available and lots of teams trying to add.

I have read that Middlestat is potentially available, maybe a deal between those 2 guys with Avs giving up some prospects/picks is doable. It's a dream.

You guys lacking forward depth? Hall and Donato are your guys. If D is an issue then yeah Jones is available. Murphy too if he wasn’t what I assume to be dead.

How much retention do you need? Hawks won’t be comfortable going over the 2-2.5 million range in retention.

I just heard he was struggling and Colorado may look to move him out if they can, I dont pay much attention to the Avs, so no idea who could replace him or not.

Colorado seems like a spot for Hall, Reichel, or Jones for different reasons.

The cap going up to 92 million just may allow Jones to go to Colorado.

So you think Davidson is looking at Ivan Ivan? If the Hawks swing a deal perhaps they can play him in a game in Rockford on a line with Marcel Marcel.

Hall and Donato make sense as Av's targets and the Av's having 2 2nds and 2 4th probably give them more than enough ammo to get both. I could see Jones being a maybe....but no way the Hawks are retaining 2-2.5 per for FIVE more years or 10-12.5 without a massive haul of assets (something I don't think the Av's prospect pool could even come up with). If the Avs were interested in Jones a deal would have to involve Manson and his 4.5 for another year as an offset of Jones salary and role (you are not paying Mason 4.5 to be a 3rd pairing D which is where you are with Makar and Jones and not moving Manson)).

No thanks to paying assets (especially like Korch) plus overpaying Boeser when you can just overpay Boeser or Ehlers or someone similar without giving up the assets. Repeating history of paying the assets to acquire Seth Jones for the privledge of then bidding against yourself to overpay him is hopefully something we have learned from rather than repeating.
