what would Hawks fans want from Colorado for Murphy at 50% retained?
My guess is they’ll ask for a first

1st, 2nd and 50% of Backstrom
Caps aren’t doing that

If Korchinski keeps this up, I could see them trading Kaiser relatively soon. It’s getting crowded and he hasn’t shown a lot.
No reason to trade anyone yet. Folks can go to Rockford to play and help them defensively

Fair enough, I would say Ritchie would be too rich for my taste so it would boil down to a 2026 first.

It would be something I’d have to think about, but I appreciate the insight!
You got my juices going though. About a month ago on this board, I proposed a trade of Mrazek (50% retained), Nolan Allan, and Nick Lardis for Georgiev and Ritchie. I got blasted by Hawks fans for it but what would an Avs fan say? This was obviously before the Blackwood deal.

Regarding Murphy 50% retained, a 26 1st might do it. But would a D prospect like Nolan Allan or Wyatt Kaiser and Nick Lardis be enough to pry Ritchie away if you took the draft pick out of the deal?

In short, no to both.

For those who care for a longer answer, it’s not the sort of trade the Avs should make as it’s very short sighted when dealing with a prospect of Ritchie’s caliber. Now granted, I’m not sure I know enough about these prospects you have mentioned to make a full assessment on value of each option. With that being said, the bulk of the Avs prospects which we have real hopes for (as few as there are) are on the back end.

In addition to that, I’m of the mindset that Ritchie should only be included in a trade that provides a clear upgrade with term to the team. A player who wouldn’t typically be available, but by adding Ritchie could fall into the “God-father” offer.

Ritchie has only improved his stock since being drafted, in a draft I considered to be fairly deep, so it’s not something easy to do. He’s dominated the OHL this year, is projected to be on team Canada’s first line at the WJC as an assistant captain, and has shown flashes at the NHL of what he could become.

Hope that provides some insight at least from one Avs fan.

Does anyone have a player or prospect that you would like to see the Hawks try to get besides draft picks?

For me it was Will Cuylle via offer sheet in the summer. I think he would've been an excellent addition age wise, skill wise, trajectory wise.

But now that the Rangers cleared the Trouba and his cap hit I can't see a world they won't keep him.

I have to think Kurashev is gone by the deadline. He’s been repeatedly scratched for Anderson playing 6 minutes a night. I doubt he has much value, but he’s a pick from past management, easier to give him a fresh start somewhere.

I wonder if they tried to move him in the off season. He wasn't one of my favorites because I thought he got knocked around and rag dolled a lot. Now the Hawks will be selling low if they do move him.

I would take a flier on Kaliev from the Kings.

Always thought if Islanders blew it up Lee would be a natural fit. Went to ND and is from Minnesota. Pretty sure the wife is from Chicago too. Exactly type of player we need with Bedard.

He skates in mud. That’s an absolute no bueno for Kyle.

Lee is 34 years old and turns 35 in offseason

Is signed thru next year at $7M cap hit and has 15 team NTC so probably wouldn't even waive for Hawks to begin with

Be stunned if we are blocked on that list. For a year he would be a good fit. No one is saying to sign him long term. The Islanders would be dumping him and we have 30 million in cap with it going up this offseason.

He would quite literally be our best scorer this year. Beats the hell out of the garbage we have put out with Bedard

Why would Lee waive to go to the worst team in NHL at soon to be 35 years old?

I think its safe bet Lee would only waive to leave Islanders if he was traded to playoff team

His wife is from Chicago and he went to ND. Chances are he wouldn’t be traded but the Islanders should get rid of Lou and blow it up. Team is a mess. Very similar to late Bowman era Hawks

Lots of people are married to people from Chicago doesn't mean they would leave company they have been with for entire careers to join a company in disarray and dumps
