Quennville is the only dude I would consider. Just hope he wasn't involved in all the shart that went down in Chicago. If so, not thanks.

Even if the Chicago controversy never happened, I can't see a 66-year old Quennville being able to relate to a group of men in their mid-20s.

Most coach's of his generation aren't in the league anymore. His last success was a decade ago. Leave Quennville where he belongs, in the past.

Looking at the next 13 games going into December....the Bruins face only 2 teams with a winning record (Stars and Canucks)

They could really separate themselves from the pack and they likely should. They have the talent to beat most of these teams

I get they're going to have their off nights but is it crazy to suggest they get 20 points in this span?

Blues (x2), Wings (x2), CBJ, Utah, Islanders, Penguins, Canadiens, Blackhawks, Flyers

There is no easy game but this is the easiest it will get for them
Unfortunately, the way the team is playing I could see them going 5 and 4 or 4 and 5 to finish out the month ; with some of those wins/loses either way in OT.

Something needs to change ... at the moment they are a 500 team - and not just because of their record.

The regular season schedule can hide a lot of flaws especially an easier stretch against other teams that are playing poorly. The real test is how they play against the top teams in the league, like Dallas and Vancouver in this stretch, not bottom feeders. And St. Louis, Detroit, and Islanders always give them a hard time.

Truthfully, every team is giving Boston a hard time at the moment.

So does that mean I cannot get my 90 year old, Don Cherry ?

Now a Don Cherry reunion I could get behind. Make the players watch Rock'Em Sock'Em 4 and 5 at least once a month to drive his points home.
Cherry would still be an improvement over what we have! If DS isn't going to replace Monty with a coach with credibility like Gallant, then he should ride out the season and sneak in or battle for the draft lottery!

I’m sorry but that’s way too long to wait.

They lead the league penalties, bottom of the league in special teams. He’s changed lines nightly, called out players and benched his top forward. All that and they got no shots in the third period of a tie game at home just last night.

Its time. Like him or not, fair or not, this team isn’t executing or giving off any impression that it’s trying to.

New coach. Move a core player. Shake it up.
I got a giggle last night when one of the CBC commentators mentioned the Bruins are disciplined and don’t take a lot of penalties.

Made me question my recollection of the past month.

Also made me realize this dude is mailing in his homework assignment.

I'm gonna sound like Mr. Negative here early in the season, but I see so many red flags with this year's team that I'm perfectly fine riding out/bottoming out with Monty, unload at the deadline and re-invent the forward group this summer. You can't fix this offense in-season and they aren't going anywhere with a bottom 5 offensive group.

I know offence sells tickets, but if they want to remotely compete this year I’d say the writing is on the wall in how they can play.

They aren’t going to run up the score too often. So it’s going to have to be 2-1, 3-2 hockey games that drag out 4 hours long because of all the stoppages, icings, offsides, dump ins clear over the opposing net. Take your pick. But slow the game down and take the life out of it.

I agree, it's there only chance of making the playoffs. Trap it up, zone D, 1 man forecheck, grind out low scoring wins.

Even still, a team like that would be easy fodder for an elite team in the 1st round. The days of a low-talent team grinding their way to a cup are over.

Agreed with how far it would take them.

What is Lemaire doing these days? Need to turn this thing in to the Minny Wild 2005 show. Good for a nap anyways.

The Bruins are actually boring to watch these days. They are static on offense and really bad at getting the puck out of the D zone. Zadorov looks like an AHL defenseman at times, and the forwards aren't getting back often enough to help. In their own zone they play just the way they played against the Panthers in the last two playoffs--slow, trapped, and beaten up. Most of the defensemen are fine as individual players, and so are many of the forwards, but as a group the team is far from fine. Is it just Monty?

My wife's reaction to that comment was not a giggle but more like a WTF dude.....

I think a new voice, with a new game plan, a new system, consistency, would give the players a fresh start and something new to buy into.
It could go along way in restoring confidence.
Right now players are frustrated, afraid of screwing up, and playing tentatively ... there is no swagger to their game.

The year is 2035, Don Sweeney is hiring his 9th NHL coach in 20 years. Fans continue to be confused how all these coaches keep “losing the room”
