Sacco isn’t getting the job. It’s Leach. They brought him back this year, mirroring what they did with Claude and Cassidy and Leach is also someone who played for the Bruins even though it was for a very brief time. That itself gives him the edge over Sacco. I don’t know if they go Leach after this year or try another route such as getting Donato out of Harvard or maybe go outside the Alumni circle again but I could see management overreacting to all of this and wanting someone who wore the sweater behind the bench.

He's done a spectacular job here thus far. He shows up and the Bruins go from a Top 5 defensive club to the bottom 5 in just a quarter of a season. That's hard to accomplish for a coach.

the bruins were not a top 5 defensive club by any metric last season, they were just getting great goaltending every night

Even still, they were nowhere near this bad.

He was a minor league bum as a D-man. Not sure what makes people think he can coach at this level.

If they aren't going to fire sleepy they need to make a significant trade. Personally I don't want Sweeney doing that. As much as I hate to say it maybe sacrificing the season and cleaning out the front office and coaching staff the last day of the season maybe the way to go.

Sweeney cannot be allowed to continue as GM of this team anymore than Montgomery can continue as coach.

That said the sellout streak ended last night, Darth Jacobs may have noticed this and have questions.

I seem to remember you being quite happy this offseason. First time I’d ever seen that.

Thing is if you'd like a high pick here, you do nothing imho. I'd like a high pick!
So they can take somebody ranked in the third round? I agree with you they need to restock but I don't think Sweeney is capable of that, or at least adding impact players. I don't want another Lysell or any more "smartest guy in the room" blown picks

This next up coach in my opinion is just another distraction on this team. There has been talk of Monty's possible firing before camp even opened, then you bring in Leach, and it starts, he will get the job if/when Monty is fired, distraction. naming Sacco, associate coach, distraction, Montys contract, distraction, Swagman's contract, distraction, Lindholm missing camp, distraction, Pasta saying he suffered an injury during the summer and couldn't train, Marchand, 3 surgeries, being revealed after the GM announced, they had no surgeries this off season. There are others, and I am sure some of these are discussed in the Lockeroom and there will be difference of opinions which intentionally can have an effect.
I hope not for a rebuild, but I do believe changes need to be made, but look at what Washington's GM, has done this year, with his team, give hope, and then what Pittsburgh, has done, with their GM in place. Now the question is which GM, is Sweeney.

That is what you call a resume builder.

Didn't cancel practice today it was the scheduled off day with Wednesday being a scheduled practice day this happens a lot when there is an extra day between games like there is this week

The tension between coach and his players, including top players, is disturbing, especially when you are seeing it on the bench during games. It's not like it seems to be helping in any way. I don't know about Monty sticking around much longer.

That's not a good look for Monty
this aside, so much blame to go around, Monty and his staff have to take some blame for sure but these players getting their asses handed to them and come back next game vs the Blues with a bullcrap effort ?

Under Monty over last 2 years, would rarely happen, the boys would come out hard and take it to the opponent

The kind of year they are having this year is the kind of year I thought they were going to have last year, super disappointing

When Marchand took a jab at Monty's constant line juggling to the media a little while back, I felt that was a telling sign. There is a lack of respect between the coach and the captain.

genuinely what are they waiting for at this point?

What they say means jack shit. Cassidy was reported by the team as being safe, then Don fired him and pretty much no one saw that coming. I am not saying they sack Monty now, and I won't be shocked if they don't, but pablum PR releases by the team don't really tell us much

It's the lack of tension on the ice between his players and opponents that's disturbing me most. I don't mind losing, but the way they are losing is unacceptable
