Improved D but same ole forwards and questionable goaltending. Curious to know are Toronto fans content with this line up? Or hoping for other changes?

The D has never really been a problem. I know people think the leafs are weak on the backend but they really aren’t. Goaltending has been horrendous minus Woll but he hasn’t played enough. The offense is the core issue. Every single playoff we get no depth scoring and the big boys don’t produce. Can’t score can’t win.

Boston still has moves to make Merkulov and Bussi shouldn’t be lost to waivers.

Mitchell was waived twice last season and went unclaimed he’s an 8th or 9th defenseman that’s the Bruins can keep in the minors.

Zacha was also the Bruins best faceoff player at the dot at an excellent 54.8%.
Zacha was moved out of center and back to wing at the end of last season, even though we didn't have any other good options. Now we have a good option.

Mitchell was waived twice because he was called up twice. Yes, he is an 8th defenseman at best, that's why I have him as our 8th defenseman. He is well suited to the role. It could also be Regula, and they have some offensive minded LD now so he may be better suited to spot duty.

Merkulov is waivers exempt. He certainly has a shot at making it, but I think it's him or Lysell not both, and Merk's not as effective on the wing as he is at center so I think it will be Lysell.

I agree they shouldn't lose Bussi to waivers. They claim they want to see Bussi vs Korpi in camp... I think Bussi gets traded for a pick before the season starts.

The Bruins are out of cap space. Swayman will get around $8 and they have $8.6 in space. They might sign a vet to a minimum contract or try another PTO like Heinen, but there are no more significant moves coming.

Skinner - McDavid - Hyman
RNH - Draisaitl - Arvidsson
Janmark - Henrique - Brown
Holloway - Ryan - Perry

LTIR Kane

Possibly Savoie wins a spot in camp and we see Ryan and Perry both rotating time in the press box. I half expect Ryan finds himself a regular in Bakers. Only thing that will maybe keep him up temporarily is his cap hit and ability to slot in at center.

Ekholm - Bouchard
Nurse - Broberg
Kulak - Ceci

Wouldn’t be surprised if this changes by season opener. Jeff Jackson isn’t one to sit on his hands like Holland was. I think Ceci days are numbered and I believe it’s unlikely he finishes out his contract in Edmonton. Will he be moved before the season starts or at the deadline is what remains to be seen.

I'm hoping it's something like this. Lapierre needs plenty of playing time, he was very good last year, and stepped up even more in the both the NHL & AHL playoffs.

Ovechkin-Dubois-Lapierre
Mangiapane-Strome-Wilson
Protas-McMichael-Milano
Duhaime-Dowd-Raddysh
Bench: Sgarbossa, (Miroshnichenko as the first forward called up as we have multiple guys who play center)

Fehervary-Carlson
Chychrun-Matt Roy
Sandin-Trevor van Riemsdyk
Bench: Bear, Alexeev

Lindgren
Thompson
System: Shepard, Stevenson

Regular season confident I think. The D is definitely improved and the G, while questionable, is still improved (bar was set very low last season). The core forwards are still regular season allstars.

Playoff confident? I mean at this point the only way I'll believe the Leafs have any playoff success will be when I see it.

We can be cap compliant with a 20 man roster but Holloway and Broberg both need contracts still. This can be done if Kane is on LTIR.
