What I’m judging is that he’s an undersized winger without amazing scoring abilities. Those guys drop every year. They get picked middle/late first round. Thats what I’ve seen from Hurlbert so far. If you project him as a first like winger, fair enough. I hope you’re right.
Want to wait until I see what the 2008’s look like in junior. Probably will do so around mid season.

I don't have such an overview of foreign players to allow myself to compile a similar ranking. I know it's very hard. I know you have a good overview, but I still couldn't help but laugh. Ok, I understand that maybe the czech prospects aren't that sexy, maybe you don't watch them that much, that's why I take the omission of Katolicky as such a logical outcome (although right now he's definitely a player for the first round), he only plays for U17, ok. But what more Novotný, who played an excellent and highly publicized HGC tournament, has to do to climb into the first two rounds, is really a mystery to me.
I understand you’re a passionate Czech fan, but just know, if there is a player that isn’t included on a ranking 2 years from a draft, it means I haven’t seen enough of the player to comment, yet. I don’t need the condescending comments from the same guy who questioned my credibility after you were convinced Badinka wasn’t going to be a top-2 round player because of a few international tournaments he wasn’t the best at.
Ok, in that case I don't really understand why Novák is in that ranking (whom I really like, but Katolický and Novotný are better). And I really questioned Badinka based on his play in the national team (just as I admitted that I didn't see him play a single minute in the club), but mainly his play was questioned by the coach who did not select him for the U20 championship, which in this case is on paper strong CZECH player absolutely unheard of.
Agreed, an insane year for Russia. Along with the 6 names you mentioned there are also more “unproven” players I can really see shooting up the list in the next two years. Gleb Pugachyov namely, and maybe Nikita Ovcharov, Boris Borin, Pavel Denisov, and Nikita Klyopov (headed to the USHL).
Novotny scored in the preseason game yesterday. I assume that he will play a full season in the Extraliga and, I won't be afraid to jinx it, he will score 10-15 points. And this is two years before the draft. Even in the draft season, this would be enough for the top-50.
Wow 3 first rounders from the BCHL, I guess the HC thing isn't hurting that league very much at all.
Luke Schairer is a player I wouldn’t overlook. I think he’ll likely go higher than Berchild or Hurlbert. Much more projectable to the NHL.
What about Maddox Dagenais? Also has Fedorov dropped that much? He was in contention for 1st OA awhile ago, wasn't he?
Leon Kolarik, there's a name I haven't heard before. I don't scout the AlpsHL, what's your take on Kolarik?

I don’t think Wassilyn is bad, but probably not as good as his OHL point totals or his overall reputation. I get the appeal, but I don’t think his scoring ability in actuality meets the theoretical appeal. 3rd rounder right now for me. Wouldn’t predict him to be an NHL’er, but he’s not bad. Has a chance.
