Every great athlete eventually has to bow to Father Time. He always wins no matter what.

When it comes to Wheeler, it looks like Father Time grabbed Wheeler and kicked him in the nards .
We all knew this would happen (well some of us), so why did Chevy have to give him that stupid contract? Now we're stuck with Wheeler another 4 years.

Toronto wasn't bad tonight. If not for Hellebuyck it could've been 4 after the 2nd.

My takes:

- This team continues to come out flat. This was a consistent theme last year and is continuing

- Does anyone know where the hell they’re supposed to be or who they’re supposed to cover? Our D zone looms like unmitigated chaos.

- Helle looked good and bailed us out as per usual.

- Two games in a row that Wheeler has looked slow and frankly invisible. Nothing wrong with a 3rd line PP specialist.

- Seemed like they couldn’t string tight passes

- Stanley only made me say “Oh Shit” once or twice so that’s far better than expected. I think he could slot in on the bottom pairing with a bit more experience.

- Oh, and fire Maurice plz.

They also had two additional games to work out a lot of their kinks. We still look to be finding our way which isn't surprising given it was game two for us.

Yup, the fact we even hung in this game I’m surprised, I was expecting much worse result without Laine, DeMelo, Jack and on the road and only our 2nd game.

To be honest, I don't see a lot different from last season. Jets never play 60 minutes. Almost no physical play. The coach just keeps doing the same thing by overplaying 55 and 26.

It’s almost the exact same team. It’s going to be exactly the same as last year.

I'm out in Alberta...

I choose to put in the extra effort to see and work with My clients...

I hedged on catching the game late...

Seems I showed up to play and hedging on the Jets was the right choice...

I missed almost the whole game...

Is it fair to say the Jets by and large didn't show up to play... ?

I wouldn't say emotionally withdrawn, they made a lot of mental mistakes.
I agree. Its a combination of things. Maybe emotionally withdrawn is the wrong term, but Imo emotion was a factor. Particularly Scheif and Wheels (guys that typically generate energy by playing with their heart on their sleeve).

I didnt see much emotion until 15 seconds left in the game.

I’m beginning to miss character guys that can get the team fired up (like Buff, Tanev, etc..)

Correct. Jets decided to play one period tonight. The rest of the game they were floating around, just going through the motions.
