They don't love/like the team as much as we do, even though for some unknown reason we think that. For some players, it's also not about winning, but regardless, Winnipeg has a pretty good team on paper.

How about returning to the team that just got to the Finals last year instead of languishing on a team that has zero guarantees of getting close to even sniff the playoffs?

I don't mean to keep harping on the same point... but you can't assume that a guy that played for 5 teams in 3 seasons has any sense of loyalty. Especially at this point in his career.

Setoguchi would be perfect, if he doesn't cost too much.

It's not about LOYALTY. It's about OPPORTUNITY to *WIN*.

With NJ, he is basically going to have great opportunities to make the playoffs and go deep.

Not to mention job security. Jumping all over a 1 yr contract? Even if he wanted out of NJ, it still doesn't make sense. Guy must really like Winnipeg.

Setoguchi has been a 20 goal scorer, basically every year he has been in the league. Still only 26. Only costs a little over $3 mil. Signed through next year.

We would need to sweeten the pot.

Zidlicky did exactly what he needed to do for us last season.
The PP was much better, the puck movement was essential in the playoffs.

That trade was worth every piece of crap sent over.

I don't think he's been any worse than anyone else in the lineup over these 8 games, though.

I think he has been playing pretty well thus far. His lack of speed has peeked out here and there, but overall I thought he has been good.

I'm not much of a fan of Dorsett. And Columbus seems to like him a lot.

Nope. Zidlicky was unhappy because they didn't want him to use his offensive abilities. He wanted to play more aggressively in the attack zone.
The transition to Yeo had a more Lemaire-esque use of defensemen, but I think they're gradually getting a little more aggressive with their blueliners.

Last season Minnesota was the worst possession team in the NHL. Wild fans claimed it was due to a lot of injuries in their top 6, but they were already at the bottom of puck possession when they owned the best point total in the NHL, around december. Some people say Yeo's system is strong forechecking others say it's trapping.


I think Yeo sucks.

Watch him on the bench during the next Wild game. Sometimes you can see him sweat.

There is an article from Russo (Wild Beat writer) i believe that Setoguchi is on the block. It was posted somewhere on our the Devils Board i believe.

Moreover, not only Kovy would love having either one or both as a teammate, but would also help us size-wise on the team. I'm referring to Evgeny Grachev & Sergey Andronov. Both are big, Russian kids that can chip in goals & play in front of the net.

That means we need to add some more forwards so that third line can go back to being the fourth line and the fourth line can become a third line worthy of the title.
