Not a fan, not interested. Weak, smallish, speedy forward... don`t we have one already?

...and an unrelated thought: How would you guys feel about Brandon Burlon for Patrice Cormier? Cormier seems blocked in Winnipeg and their management wasn't responsible for bringing him in. They seemingly could use a little AHL depth on the backend. Similarly, Burlon seems a little lost in the shuffle with us.

// I just want a French version of the Crash Line with Matteau-Cormier-Bernier
Would do it in a heartbeat!

ill say teddy and tally for mps and hemsky. not considering any extras either team adds or whatever. we make good partners. shrug

I'd buy that for a dollar.

I'd do it. Would be an interesting trade from a draft history perspective. Two guys taken two picks apart, by the same team, being traded for each other.

Not sure why people are all for trading Volchenkov? He's the only guy on the team who can body check.

I don't mind trading any D-men aside from Larsson and Bryce.

Though I'm not as big as others on trading Tallinder. Think he does a good job out there.

Still, Tallinder, Volch, Fayne(and I'd think he has good value), Greene, any of the prospects, no prob trading those guys.

Now I don't see such a need for a winger that I feel we need to trade for a 3rd line guy. Sure it would add depth to the fwd's while clearing the logjam at D, but given the total # of D-men in the org, I'd rather make a bigger deal for a more productive player.

Then again, Lou is right in stating that the 10 game mark will be a good place to evaluate our situation. Are we winning games, are we scoring goals? Is Matteau still on the squad, is Ted's producing or flaking? Injuries? What teams pop up with a need for a D-man?

So while I'm leaning towards a bigger trade, I think we will have a better idea in a couple weeks.

fantasy:
Henrik Tallinder, Jon Merril, Mattias Tedenby/Boucher, 2nd to LAK
Jeff Carter to NJD

zubrus-zajac-kovalchuk
elias-henrique-carter
darche-josefson-clarkson
bernier-gionta-carter

greene-fayne
salvador-larsson
zidlicky-volchenkov

actually carter has a house is sea isle city so its plausible he would waive for NJ
:sarcasm:

For some reason, this trade is very... Interesting. I wouldn't know what to think if this happened haha, but then again I doubt it would. I'd like it. But, I'd rather go with more of a Williams, preferably Gagne, if it's possible.

I know it's probably a pipe dream but I would love to see Jarome Iginla in a Devils uniform, we need a RW and he's a RW and he plays Devils hockey, he would be a perfect fit here.

Keep `em coming though.

Amen to that, I would LOVE to see Iginla in a Devils uniform. Make it happen Lou..... Within reason.

Pretty sure Carter isn't the type of person that Lou wants on the team. Didn't he get traded from philly because he was an issue off the ice?

I am thinking maybe James van Riemsdyk could be available if he struggles a bit in Toronto. They got rid of their old GM who traded for him and they will need cap help if they go for Lou via trade.

I see Iginla as a Flames lifer I think. Even though technically he's not cause he was drafted by Dallas.

I wonder if the Flames struggle they will do Iginla a favor trade him to a contender?

I can only imagine they would if Iginla tells them that he has no intention of re-signing. It'd be strange to see him in another jersey, but he might have to leave town if he wants to contend for a Cup. Unfortunately I could see a team like the Penguins being suitors and they have a stockpile of D that they could offer.

Iginla is on his last year of his contract so it might leave anyway though I doubt it. But he can always be a rental player and then resign with Calgary after the season.

But you know the Flyers will want him as will another dozen teams I'm sure, Lou would have to get crafty like he did getting Kovy from Atlanta. Either way if Calgary ever did decide to put him on the market they probably get a nice return.

I might be willing to do a 2014 #1 pick, Tedenby and a defensive prospect like Gelinas or Urbom. Would like to keep Merrill and Severson.

Quite possibly, who knows. And to be honest, if that were to become an issue, I can't see another team Iginla would fit better with than NJ. But that's my personal opinion

Penguins should keep the D and actually use them for their team. I would love to sign Iginla. Elias - Henrique - Iginla line would be great.
