Prices are too expensive. 2 2nds for Regehr? 1st and two prospects for Jay?
Yeah, prices are crazy high. I wouldn't give up one 2nd for Regehr, let alone two.

Heatley back to San Jose for Clowe +?

Why would we want a slow "powerforward" who has been absolutely garbage this year.

I've always had a soft spot for Ryan Clowe, love big power forwards in general. Having basically another Rupp (but with a lot more skill) in our top-9 would be great, I think. And, correct me if I'm wrong, isn't he a right-handed shot? He would replace Brodziak on the top PP unit, and that alone is a huge upgrade for the team.
I am worried, however, that we are going to give him a silly contract if we bring him here, and then we'll have another Mark Parrish on our hands in a couple of years.
EDIT: Nevermind, he is a left shot.
You dont think adding Vanek would make the Wild "close enough"?
2013-2014 Line Combo
Parise - Koivu - Vanek
Zucker - Cullen - Setoguchi
Larsson - Brodziak - Coyle
Rupp - Konopka - Mitchell
Damn!!! Excuse me while I go take a cold shower.....

http://www.startribune.com/sports/blogs/200985581.htmlNo new news on the Ryane Clowe front. All I can tell you is the Wild is very much involved in trade talks, but it all has to do with the price to get him and how much an extension will cost. The Wild will not give up its blue-chippers, but it does have plenty of other prospects it may be willing to part with if you can get Clowe extended on a sensible contract. I’m not sure the contract he’s looking for would be considered sensible though.
I’ll also be interested to see if tonight was Pierre-Marc Bouchard’s last game with the Wild or if Fletcher looks for another top-4 defenseman.
He ain't Heatley-slow....and he hasn't been "garbage" either, a little snake-bitten is more like it.
Unless they are fitness nutz, power forwards drop off quick as they get older. Their slow speed drops even slower. They don't win as many battles. They aren't as physical anymore.
Clowe was already a very streaky player. He might have 6 more good seasons, or he might have 2 before he's never in the play anymore.
I am not really willing to give up Coyle/Granlund/Zucker/Larsson for that. Maybe for Clutterbuck+a tier 2 prospect, but that's about it.
Tonight is exactly the kind of game you need a Ryan Clowe though for, don't like seeing the Wild get pushed around by the bigger Blues team and Bouchard against teams like this just dissapears again. Would still very much like to dump Bouchard for anything.
