Since the Staples Center opened in 1999-2000, it has seen their 4 tenants (Lakers, Sparks, Clippers, & Kings) go to the championship 12 times and winning it all 9 times. Lakers in the NBA Finals 7 times and winning 5 titles. Sparks going to the WNBA Finals 3 times and winning it all twice. Of course our Kings are 2 for 2. Clips zero! So, that's 12 championship series in the less than 15 years Staples have been in existence.

That just means the clippers need to leave and go to Anaheim. They fit in with those teams. The least popular team in there sports in the city they play in. Plus, those teams are good in the regular season but suck in the postseason. :p:

LA: Kings, Lakers, Dodgers

Anaheim: Ducks, Clippers, Angels

The way it is ment to be!!

Edit: oh yeah...the LA Rams and Anaheim Chargers :sarcasm:

Believe it.

The Avs behind Sakic, Forsberg and Roy only captured two Cups in a span of five seasons and that was it for them.

In their first seven years in Colorado they made the semi-finals six times. That's insanely hard to do, even pre-cap. Hard to use 'only' in proper context.

This is the Kings board. if you didn't want to see a thread name that disparaged the Canucks, you shouldn't have come here.

At least not with such weak trash talk.

its pretty hard to trash talk u guys with the whole...you know...2 cups in 3 years thing...

4th line was fabulous as was Carter's line and Kopi. Can't wait for the Canucks' game!

I've been saying this stuff about Nick Shore for the past month. Dude is so poised and under control, very rare to see that these days with kids being rushed. The Kings have done a great job developing him.

Have to win out, it's not complicated. Winnipeg and Calgary won't be dropping points, we can't drop them either. Vancouver & Calgary are going to be the biggest games of our season but that Edmonton game in between might be a trap game. Can't come out flat vs Vancouver. (I hate the name of the thread).

Also, Jordan Nolan? Wow. This guy has played amazing!!

The Playoff Purple Socks are 3-0 this regular season. I just hope the club can clinch a game or two early so I can rest my socks before the post season.

feels good not staring at that bloody neck avatar any more, unfortunately it has spread like the plague!

Quick Hits from C-6:

  • What has gotten into Jordan Nolan?? That guy looks like a real player (I didn't get to see any playoff games live in 2012; is this what he looked like back then?) Clifford and even Lewis had strong games, too.
  • I thought RR had a very strong game. In fact, it's games like this that make me wish the Kings could re-sign him for a season or two.
  • Quick's goal.......that was gross. Really gross. The lady in the suite next to us shouted, "Wake up!" and all we could do was laugh. On the other hand, he did make a couple of very johnny-on-the-spot scramble plays on what could have been dangerous pucks near the net...
  • Everybody is crapping on Jarret Stoll, but I personally thought the worst skater for the Kings, hands-down, was Justin Williams.
  • The Avs: well, they simply don't appear to be a very good team at the moment (no offense intended if any Colorado fans are reading this). They've got a lot of quick players, but their top end guys either look frayed (I don't care what the point-totals say: Iginla is a shadow of the player that used to terrorize the Kings), or just plain lack the grit they need to (for the most part, their few shots were stright-line wide-anglesrs ala Craig Johnson -- even the goal they scored was of this variety)...and their defenders were letting the Kings get to where they wanted to pretty-much at-will, all game...

If the Kings make it.... they have some real obstacles to over come in the playoffs... Like how to shelter Williams without home ice advantage..... top 6 has no dynamic line or lines.... Gaborik/Kopitar and Carter/Toffoli both play with anchors..... it will be a miracle if the bot 6 produces any meaningful offense..... add to that this team playing no where near where they were at the same time last year...

Nolan... played well the last couple of games... driving the net.... but it's hard for him to move up the line up because he isn't good enough to play against the other teams top 6.

Shore.... great.... hope he finds some offense and doesn't become Lewis 2.0... team already has too many plugs that don't score.

Just feel like this season is already over... which is too bad because the strongest team in the Pacific is the Ducks who have major question marks at goal. That leaves the central with Kane out for the Hawks, Nash with no great offense, and the Blues probably the best of the group gearing up for their annual choke job....

 I know right you all missed me!
