Well that's the thing right? He played up above his actual spot last season, and with far better players. On a team that had the ability to roll 4 lines that could score, and was a front running wagon. And he had an inflated shooting percentage. All that was serendipity to enable him to get that 17 goal mark. You fast forward to this upcoming season, and his shooting percentage will be hard pressed to not drop given his career average, his role is likely going to be 4th line center, and his line mates are not going to be productive set up guys like Hall. He'll also have the added defensive responsibilities of playing center vs wing on a line essentially carried by Coyle and Hall. He's got nowhere to go but down.
