Now that the axe has fallen on Claude Julien, the Bruins Management looks for a worthy successor. While Butch Cassidy has been named interim, no doubt there will be a search for a permanent replacement. Your views on who would be best to run the club on a long term basis.

Note: need help on poll formatting.

It will be Hitchcock... just watch

Not saying he's my pick or who I want... just seems the type of move i expect from this joke of a management team

I like what gallant did in Florida before they canned him, I'd like to see him behind the bench. He seemed to do well developing the youth they had recently drafted ( hubs, barkov, ekblad, etc)

Is this who we want or who we think it will be.

My choice: Kevin Dineen

The most likely choice, Bruce Cassidy or someone who will work for even cheaper.

Ted Nolan, oops wrong Ted, it will be Donato. He knows Bruins hockey

Like Sweeney and Neely know Bruins hockey. :sarcasm:

I want this organization purged of any coach, scout, player, manager, or whatever that had anything to do with the franchise Pre 2006-2007.

No more retreads. No more old boys club.

Undecided between Gallant and Leaman.

Gallant is an experienced, respected head coach who did a nice job with the Panthers last season. Injuries this year, between Huberdeau and Barkov severely crippled the team and Gerard was made the scapegoat for the resulting team performance.
He has the respect of his team, much like Julien.

Leaman, OTOH, is new school, upbeat style coach who guided the Friars to a National Championship. He's very bright and an up-and-comer who seems destined to coach in the NHL.

I went with Leaman to bring a new style and philosophy to the organization.

My choice too but I wouldn't bet a dime on it. They're to dumb to have a clue IMO.

Force Cam to earn his money and get behind the bench. If he refuses then fire him. After the BS today ruining my high from the Superbowl that trainwreck of a front office deserves nothing less.

that was the prediction 2 weeks ago--but my guess is Neely pointed out he has never coached

I've got to think it's Cassidy- he has been essentially groomed for this job and I would be surprised if he isn't given the chance beyond this season to show what he can do.

I just don't see the fascination for Gallant.

6 years of coaching, .518 win percentage, 1 playoff appearance ( a disappointing 1st round exit ) doesn't exactly scream shiny new toy to me.

I'm on board the Leaman train, with the expectation that it will take some time ( possibly longer than a lot of people's patience ) for him to be successful.

I don't really care who it is. I just want them to start valuing skill and speed and move away from this dinosaur like view of being bigger and tougher to play against that they adhere to just to cling to this nonsense of being the Big Bad Boston Bruins. The league is moving away from that, so get with the times. Get an offensive minded guy that is willing to better integrate the young, skilled players, and not obsessed with the Riley Nashs and Kevan Millers of the world. You know, guys with limited skills and zero upside?

Cassidy will likely have the reigns for the remainder of the season and, depending on the results, he may be offered the position permentaly in the off season. Should it not end well, anticipate that they will go through the process of looking outside the organization. The folks who will be tasked with leading that search may also change by that time should the season not end well.

Quinn or Leaman for me

asking as I have no clue nor am I anywhere qualified to speak on either but have either expressed an interest in NHL positions?

I ask only as it`s not a given that all coaches at various levels have that aspiration and in some cases where they are is a perfect fit already

No clue why I still love Ted Nolan

Well if it's Neely and Sweeney making the call on the next coach, you can bet it will be someone who embraces the mythical and magical "Bruins hockey" like it's 1979 all over again.

It's all about their precious intangibles, except when it applies to themselves.
