Who are you guys cheering for? Typically I'd cheer for Canada, but Malkin is a Pens prospect and I'd like to see him lead his team to gold.

Russia. It would shock a few here to know that I wear this Jersey (except the home white version) with Malkin's name and number on it, not Crosby's to the Pens games. I was really torn when Russia played the US. Malkin was an obvious draw. Then again we very well have one of the Americans like Kessel on the team next year too.

Russia has a powerhouse for the Olympics, like they usually do. Canada doesn't stnad a chance against them.
:biglaugh: Canada? :biglaugh:
:shakehead

Usually It would be Canada no question, but after hearing the Canadians cheer for the Czechs and boo the Americans, I'll take the Russians this year.

I am rooting for Canada because I am partial to the North American player.

Go Canada

??? Come again, please.

Russia. I'm a huge fan of Malkin's (and not just because I'm a Penguins fan) and of Russia's players and hockey program in general.

I'd have to say neither. Nothing personal, but maybe it is, I'd have a hard time cheering for the team which it's fans were constantly riding my team to the point of ridiculous.

This wasn't a result of Johnson, it was something much deeper and more personal which started before that team even stepped foot on that ice. I have always wanted either of the N. American teams to win over any other non N. American team but the bad taste in my mouth won't allow for that this year and who knows how long before I feel that way again.

I didn't mean to start another locked-up thread regarding this and I'm hoping that people can just discuss this like adults and not some clueless rambling...well, you know.

Best of luck to both teams as they earned and deserve the right to play for the gold but you lost one who would've supported you Canada.

I feel pretty much the same way.

Canada....Staal and Pyatt Ranger Prospects...want them to do well.

I didnt mind the booing that much from Canadian fans...but the "US SUCKS" chant yesterday was kinda low.

I'm Canadian so I won't vote but if I was American I would vote for Russia. The treatment the US is getting in BC is shameful, they didn't get that in Halifax in 03 and that was post you know what.

Well, as a Albertan, I feel closer to the States then I do Eastern Canada, so I took the poll also and I voted for the Russians against the Vancouver fans......though as a Flyer fan, I also hope that Downie does great and in that respect, I will be pulling for Canada to a point..... :handclap:

Wow, what a concept! You're allowed to cheer for whoever you want and it's more than ok in this thread, no one has even complained that people are cheering against Canada!

Wish people would realize that's what the fans in Vancouver were doing as well.

I'll be more interested in the game between USA and Finland to be cheering for anyone. But if I were to cheer for someone it would be for the Canadians because of Steve Downie.
