Rangers had the chance to make it 3-0 and close the game, but Panarin freezes and makes a terrible play on the 2 on 1 with Laf...we have a PP a couple of minutes later and we don't score...That's the game.
Then a fourth liner tries to make a finesse play in the middle of the ice with your Dman up ice, with less than 10 minutes left in the second period (which Rangers have dominated) and that wakes up their top guys and the rest is history...
We're playing our 4th game in 6 nights, 3 in 4, they didn't manage the game right in the second half of the game.
Our D without Trouba is very young and it showed tonight, they panicked when the big guys from Tampa stepped up, especially Miller...
Rangers have a hard time against teams with high end skill, who play fast, especially on the road (Tampa, Dallas, Colorado, Edmonton...).
If Rangers play this team in the first round, they will win if they play physical against their top guys. Home ice advantage will be huge, we win in 5, max 6 games.

Wherever the keg is!
I'm still stunned by the duclair noncall. The ref is literally on camera watching him bury lindgren after a clean hit. The ref actually can be seen speaking to duclair AS IT HAPPENSView attachment 836250View attachment 836252View attachment 836251

Look at what happens to Kakko in the final 5 minutes when he's behind the net: gets pinned down to the ice and gets cross-checked.

And that's with the Bolts leading by 2.

If we play them Round 1, some posters won't like it, but you let Rempe do his thing (Without elbowing someone but maybe a hit later than usual), and you tell Trouba he isn't playing unless he crumples a Lightning player.

Haha yeah the Canes are a team of fighters/heart. Lol.

Hint - Canes are also a skill team.
You don't think traveling to Carolina and beating them on the second of a B2B took guts? Is that easy to do? I guess Florida has no guts because they lost 4-0 to Carolina at home. Why can't the Rangers just lose a game without some losing their shit? Why?

Weird take when Tampa won the game because their skill guys combined for like 20 points.
Tautology 101. You win.

Me, I’m going to remember Bolts turning up the forechecking pressure, hits, and getting in Igor’s grill in order to unleash the skilled players who had been pointless until a certain, um, Point.

PS His 3 goals were against three different Ranger lines. Call me crazy, but that looks like heart to me.

You post the same stuff every loss.

Maybe it was fatigue but the Rangers just don’t generate enough offense. Even throughout this stretch after the deadline it’s been their defense limiting chances more than anything.
They generate offense. They don't finish often enough. Panarin has to shoot and bury that 2 on 1. Be selfish and show a killer instinct. It wasn't an issue this game, but we are so bad on breakaways it's comical.

That tied the game.

Goals 3 and 4...all Miller.
He’s such a freaking enigma.
After 4 years in the league and his consistency is still shit.
Half the time you get Kam the all star stud, and the other half he’s like a dumb rookie making elementary mistakes.

Rangers are in a stretch where they are playing a lot of hockey in a short time again, so it’s not surprising the longer the game went on the worse they looked, but come on…
After Roslovics goal to make it 3-2 you think it would shake them awake a bit with 20 min to go…..
I repeat my statement that I think miller would be a bad partner for fox…
I know many want to see it, but I don’t think it will go well over the course of the season

Because it's true and it amazes me that I often have to repeat it for the people in the back. Good teams lose games. The best team in hockey loses 20-25 games a year. This isn't something new. Do you honestly think they were going to win every one of the 6 games in 9 days on the current schedule? They won the first 3 but OMG they lost on the road to a desperate team that had 5 days off. No guts I guess. Get a clue. Florida doesn't suck and have no guts because they lost to Carolina 4-0 at home. Dallas also doesn't suck after losing 6-2 at home to the Devils. Why is this so damn hard to understand?

They say when you get tired, the 1st thing that goes is your brain. Miller was OK for the 1st 2 periods, then he completely fell apart in the 3rd.

We've had home ice every time we've played these f***ers, to no avail.

Agree the schedule did them no favors.

But a stark reminder that you need 60 min of execution to beat Tampa when they are fired up. First half-sih of the game up until the 1st goal was flat-out phenomenal by the NYR. But a few mistakes and bad shifts and the beast awoke. Sound familiar?

NYR are absolutely deeper and should prevail in a 7 game series but TB will not be an easy out and will almost certainly take a bite out of whoever they play.

Vent time. I can't stand the NHL. The Rangers have 5 days off and then play 6 in 9 with 2 BTB's with travel. 2 day games this weekend also. I mean WTF? It's been like this all year also. This league is run by morons. Hard cap, horrible scheduling, worse officiating. Just a terrible league that happens to be in charge of the sport I love the most.

I was at the game and it completely changed on that Brodzinski turnover. The Lightning best players will make you pay for your mistakes every time.

The one good thing is that the first line is clicking. Other than that, burn the tape.

What guys were they missing? Trouba? That's addition by subtraction. Chytil's been out all season and replaced by Wennberg.

Addition by subtraction until it's not because Miller, Gus and Schneider can't sustain the amount of ice time they're getting especially against elite players. It worked for a couple games. I'm saying this over-reliance plus 3 in 4 and this is the result you get. I saw this coming from a mile away when we went up 2-0. I knew they were gonna gas out.

Chytil, Trouba, the Remperor. Lindgren missed a decent chunk of time tonight too with an already gassed group of dmen. They're missing Sergachev obviously but we still win this game if Trouba plays.

Rempe has a massive impact on games. If that's him instead of Brodzinski that puck gets chipped out and we're probably singing another tune in the PGT. Rempe can't afford to turn pucks over. In reality neither can Brodzinski but Brodzinski is trying to play as if he's a top 6 forward at this level (he isn't) and spring the transition hence the picked off pass that lead to the goal. Rempe knows what he is and that pucks getting flipped out into the NZ 100%. Not to mention whoever's skeleton he would've been welding into the boards all game takes a toll

Why is it always the end of the world when they lose a game? They are going to lose games especially with this schedule.
It really is crazy how quick this group of fans is to start flinging their own shit when the team loses.

Oh and we got to see what the team looks like without Zib for the last part of the second period there. Anyone enjoy that stretch? Perhaps a teachable moment for the class?

Spoiler: Mika may be their most important player.
