But of course. I told my dad we had made the playoffs and habs controlled their own destiny while he was in hospital. I think he watched that game about 15 days ago. But like my dad, the habs are sliding off a cliff.

Sad to say he died with family by his side last Friday. Stage 4 lung cancer diagnosed 3 weeks prior. My wife said she will wear a habs Jersey for her trip to Toronto for the Habs-Leaf game. Even though she is more so a leaf fan because of her dad. Now I just need to find my Vintage 50s era Bouchard #3 Captain jersey. My dad was also called Butch most of his life and my RLN matches the sweater.

So I may or may not be posting much into the future. Still uncertain because of how my dad and I bonded a lot through watching and playing hockey and how it is (at present) upsetting watching the habs after his recent passing.

But still cheering the boys on. Come on you slugs get the lead out and at least make the playoffs, too late to tank this biotch. Might as well get some PO experience.

Cheers/Salut :D
Sorry to hear this. Im going through the same thing with my dad. Sports is a good distraction but habs sliding at the worst possible time

7-3. Gives us 14 pts. Puts us @ 89 pts. Might be enough this year for WC2.

I mean, the odds are not in our favour, but maybe we get some big wins in these final 10 games.

Hard to feel optimistic but that exactly when the Habs surprise us. I'm here for the ride however good or bad it is

New York teams have had some crazy losses last 2 days. Islanders almost come all the way back from 4-0 down, but lose 5-3 on ENG.

Islanders have a tough weekend. They're @ Carolina tomorrow.

It Columbus lose to Sens (which is likely) we’re still in control of our destiny.

We got to split Florida then get on a winning streak on the easier schedule.

I forgot about Detroit. They're still in it. Somehow. They play Boston tonight, so if they win that they'll be a point back of Montreal. Habs will have a game in hand. Detroit is playing at home. It's definitely a winnable game for them, as Bruins are crap.

Wishing you strength in your tough times, Doc. The father/son hockey relationship you described is what brought a lot of us to hockey & this team.

Not so hot take, the WC2 winner is definitely getting under 90 pts this year

Will be tough for Detroit to make it. They have the hardest schedule in the league left.

7 of their last 9 games after today are against top teams: Blues, Carolina, Panthers x 2, Tampa, Dallas, Toronto

With the way other teams in our position are playing, I don't think we need to go on that big of a run. Hell if Columbus doesn't come back from this 3rd period, we still control our destiny even if the Rangers win. Any time we are in a position to control our destiny means that we are ahead of the other teams.
