  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

another loss tonight against the Canes and i think we can kiss our chances goodbye

It's possible but the teams chasing the Habs aren't very good either.

The Habs have 11 games left with 75 points.

They could go 6-5 the rest of the way and finish with 87 points and that might actually be enough.

I think they get in with 89 for sure, but the floor to get in is hard to predict right now.

I know their objective was to be in the mix, but I find that locking a spot would be a significant step forward for the team.

100%. Now that we're here, we want them in. But if we look at it objectively, even if they said they wanted to be in the mix, we didn't think they really would. Almost all of us had them in the bottom of the standings again. Maybe not Bottom-5, but Bottom-10. So right now, we're playing with house money.

What's discouraging is they're hitting a wall right now. It's been real highs followed by real lows. We all know they started the season really bad. But from December to mid-January, they were flying. Then they hit a wall and were losing almost every game before the 4-Nations. After the tourny, they came back flying again. And now, they're starting to hit a wall.

Not to be forgotten, they are still the second youngest team in the league, behind only the Sabres. So consistency is still something they're trying to figure out.

We are so lucky that none of the teams behind the Habs are winning enough to overtake them. But if MTL continue to not take advantage of their chances to widen the gap, even if a little, those other teams will overtake them.

Tonight, we need VAN to do us another solid after they did one against NYI, but tonight to do it with CBJ. And of course, we need ANA to beat NYR.

IF they managed to get 4 points between the Philly, Carolina and 2 Florida games then I figured they'd be in good shape going into April.

So tonight is nearly a must-win in my eyes because I can't see us winning both Florida games coming up. A win tonight and split the 2 games with Florida, then MAYBE they'll be able to get a little momentum going to finish out the season
