Yes!! 3-1 Final for Oilers. This is huge for Montreal. 1 pt back still with 2 games in hand. It's really within our own hands now.

Tomorrow, Columbus hosts NJD, so we'll see what happens there, but regardless, Montreal needs 2 pts against Ottawa, and for Calgary to limit NYR to one point on Tuesday. That happens we hold WC2.

Game of the year...until the next one 😀

Games are all starting to have a playoff vibe to them.

The Colorado - Dallas game was fantastic. Our own game against Florida too.

This is real good experience the players are getting. Very happy they're going through it, both for us fans and for them. A playoff birth would do wonders for the group though.

Awesome win Edmonton.

What a weird feeling knowing the team has its destiny in its hands. Reminds me of the 2002 and 2004 seasons.
With the way the other teams are playing, it's the Habs against themselves. Highly unlikely that we will maintain this 0.800 winning percentage since the break. Need Roy to step up right now and the 4th line to start being useful offensively again. The defense has been steady outside of the Seattle game where it was mostly the Savard/Xhekaj combo taking dumb penalties all game, so I think they can hold the fort until Guhle comes back.

Flames play Toronto tomorrow then the Rangers Tuesday.

I want Calgary to win both those games but Rangers gets a little help from the Schedule on that one.

I'm hoping they play Wolf back-to-back. Calgary is going to need the points.

Blues are beating the Ducks 5-1. They're going to jump Calgary by 2 pts & at least briefly be tied with Vancouver in WC2. Difference is Calgary will have 3 games in hand on the Blues, which is an insane game differential this late in season.

Vancouver & Utah are tied 1-1 after 2. If Vancouver wins, they'll move 4 pts up Calgary, but Flames hold 2 games in hand on Canucks.

Wolf hasn't played on back to back nights all year and I don't think that will change. I understand that he is their best chance to win but I can't see them doing anything different

Quite an annoying schedule with the Rags playing again Tuesday.

Well, tonight was 3 games in 4 days for Rangers. Tuesday will be 4 games in 6 days. Rags are an older club, while Calgary is a faster, younger club. I'm hoping that makes a difference.

If Quick starts versus Vlader than goaltending should be about even. Wolf likely gets the Toronto game tomorrow.

Just did some quick math. Habs have been operating at 1.21 pts per game since after game 33 (half of the current GP). That's a pace of 99pts/82 games. So if we extrapolate that to the remaining 16 games, we get 19pts. Add that to 71 and we arrive at 90 pts. Is that good enough for the WC2? Maybe but it'll be a close one

We've been the best team in the league since the four nations break. But who knows when the first line and monty will run out of steam.

Capitals are dominating the league now, but it will be very intereting to see them face that WC2 team in first round of playoffs. Whoever that is, I would say the odds would be 50-50 in that series. Rangers, Habs, Columbus would all be extremely motivated.
