Playoff race/Scoreboard watching thread

That was a sad OT and one of the most bizarre and thrilling shootouts I've ever seen. Frank "the Tank" Nazar's phantom goal has kept our season alive.

Come on Bedard, do something

You're calling on the wrong player. He seemed to have zero confidence out there. Bedard needs someone to carry pucks for him and just let him be the triggerman.

What the hell happened?

I was watching the gametracker on both the NHL and ESPN websites/apps. In the shootout, they showed the first four shooters missing. Then, they went back and changed Nazar's attempt to a goal (after two other shooters had gone). Then, there was a long delay (I assumed there was some kind of review, but nothing posted about it), and it was changed to a miss. Then, Suzuki missed the final attempt, and the gamecast was listing a 4-3 SO win for Chicago, despite still having all five shooters listed as misses/saves. And finally, after a couple minutes, they got around to changing Nazar's attempt back to a goal.

That shit is not good for my blood pressure.

Looking at our games remaining, I kind of like our chances if Carolina doesn't phone it in. I'm not saying we have a great chance, but we do have a decent chance.
As we saw last year in the final game on the road, Carolina mailed it in against us. I don’t expect anything different unfortunately.

But we can only control what we can control

If Montreal can’t beat the second worst team in the league at home fueled by Demidov debut, they sure as heck not guaranteed to beat Canes

Dearest Jack Roslovic and Eric Robinson,
Your memory is cherished in Columbus and we never doubted you. None among us ever doubted you, you were only ever questioned in jest. Jack your silky mitts are the greatest of all time and we will build a statue for you in Columbus if you score enough to beat the Habs. Eric, you were really fast. And scored enough on breakaways. And you grew up with the Gaudreau brothers? Forget about your playoffs, it is time for you to be a hero now.
Sincerely,
All Blue Jackets fans, without exception.

I stopped reading after "Eric, you were really fast" because I thought that was enough of a compliment

Was listening to Hawks radio broadcast. They had no idea what was happening. They called a goal for Nazar, then a stop for their goalie, then a bunch of muss and fuss and they just had no idea. Ref announces goal for Hawks, they’re like “we knew that.”

So I still don’t know what happened.

Nazar scored, top shelf and the puck stuck up there. Ken Daniels was calling the game and he even called it a goal right away, but the refs didn't see it go in and there wasn't a goal light on, so the broadcast switched to thinking the attempt was stopped and everyone in the arena went on as if it was stopped. And then Laine tries to score at the other end and gets stopped. Only then did the officials get word that Nazar's puck went in. It didn't need a long review, just some confusion about how to proceed.

What's funny is that after Laine was stopped the officials made the announcement, something like "the goal was in on the previous attempt, we have a good goal" and the Habs fans thought they had scored.
