Playoff race/Scoreboard watching thread

So I don't want to sound like a jerk but I see Habs fans saying stuff like: 'if it's not going to be us, I am glad it will be the CBJ'. I have no warm fuzzy feelings like that for the Habs, the whole Laine thing and the shit he said still has me salty (and I had an amazing time at the Habs game I went to in Montreal ten years ago...best experience I have ever had at a game). But Laine is sitting alongside Foote, Carter, and Dubois on my Mt Rushmore of players I wish no luck to, thus I would have preferred pretty much anyone (except Pittsburgh) in the final WC spot this season over Montreal. I am talking joy from the fact Laine has pretty much sucked at anything but PP shooting for the majority of this season and sounds like Habs fans are very cynical about his play.

I go back and forth on it because of how annoying many Habs fans on HF can be. But that's mostly just a specially selected group of whackos that the rest are embarrassed by. And Habs fans generally have figured out that Laine is full of shit. They had a great second half despite Laine, and they know it. Ultimately I'm usually going to be happy to see the Habs succeed because it's fun to see the intensity of home playoff games in Montreal. I've never been in person, that must have been amazing.

How the hell is the Carolina/Montreal game not on TNT tonight? I don't usually complain about what the TV networks do, but how can then not have a flex ability this late in the season?

If the Canes lose tonight, and tomorrow their top guys are back in for their last "meaningless" regular season game, are we supposed to think it's all just a coincidence and bad luck from our perspective?

IIRC, Robby and Johnny both grew up in the same area of New Jersey and had a friendship before they both headed off to college. Maybe that’s one more thing to inspire Robby tonight.

I think we’re not in a position to ask anyone to risk their top players in a game that’s not in front of their fans who paid for the tickets. Let’s just hope the youngsters want to impress Brindamour and will play hard.

I was gonna say something similar, If you have two games left and wanna give your stars one night off, the one that requires travel across the border to play away and the other is at home...I'd be giving them the road trip off.

I really like what Montreal is doing as a club. I can't ignore their fans, but I would root for them over the Caps.

To be totally fair, the CBJ - NYI game is pretty irrelevant for everyone but Columbus and Montreal fans and another Sid / Ovie rivalry game is still a big draw
The league was trying to make a deal of the last available playoff spot, hopefully don’t just bury it because “not top 5 market” or somesuch

They play in Ottawa tomorrow...
