The stupidity in that main board thread is rather strong but not unexpected. I usually start avoiding the main boards once the mods go into playoff mode and delete 90% of the posts over there.

surprisingly though they haven't. i trolled the hell out of that thread last nite and never even got an edit, let alone a deletion

If #8 seeded team has better blueline that #1 team in same conference, then that #1 team has to ask themselves: what a heck are we doing in PO's?

Didn't you get the HF memo? According to the main boards, we only have 3 forwards, no D at all and a couple of goalies without any NHL experience.

EDIT:

That abomination of a thread already has like 30 pages. Why bother deleting anything, just let it fill up and then nuke the entire thread.

Well, your argument made it kind of crappy, but really, i mean...that #8 seed team is #8 for some reason, they havent just pop up there. If our defense isnt capable to defend Jets offense, then how they are gonna defend against better structured teams like Hawks. :/

It's not like the NBA where the 8 seed doesn't have a prayer.

I'm not saying that their defense is necessarily better and I think the Ducks have a better team overall but to say they aren't good because they are the 8 seed and the Ducks are the one isn't fair.

There is a clear difference between those two tbh. But I take Beauchemin if I need to match a defenseman to a forward to shut him down. Outside of the speedier forwards.

Like or dislike Buff all you want. When he's on he's a force.

They're not similar players, but IMO they have similar levels of effectiveness. As for Buff, he's such a force that his coaches wanted him up on forward until they were hit hard by injuries and he had one of his dominant stretches. So, yeah, I will continue to not like him as a player and not feel wrong about it. He's fun to watch, I'll give you that.

The Ducks clearly lucked into the top spot in the west yet again. I don't know why they are even bothering to play in the playoffs against a huge physical team when they are a bunch of wimps. Let's just forfeit now.

Hm. dont know, im avoiding that thread mostly. Ok, sometimes i wrote smth down, but then im not entering it for at least a day, because i dont have time to read stupid replies by Jets fan on my comment. :D

And i wrote the truth, Wheeler and Laad are not examples of physical players who are using their bodies.

Beleskey-Getzlaf-Perry
Cogliano-Kesler-Silfverberg
Sekac-Rakell-Palmieri
Maroon-Thompson-Jackman/Etem

Perfect playoff lineup against this team

That is a huge qualifier for Buff. He's on sometimes, he's off sometimes and every once in a while he gets suspended for the most important games of the season.

I don't want him getting suspended. Not cause it might help the Jets but just cause it probably means someone important got injured.

Haha that's true.
I think the Jets do have an advantage in Top 4 D and coaching. I think all other areas are either more or less even or a Ducks advantage. If Pavelec plays well or Andersen doesn't, then this series will probably get me nervous.

I'd rather be playing the Jets than the wild or flames to be honest. They are clearly a talented team but I just don't see how they outmatch us. Up front we clearly have the more high end talent, as well as more quality depth throughout the lineup. They do have a slight edge on D so long as Buff and Trouba are playing at the top of their game. But our D is obviously nothing to scoff at and if a few guys take it to the next level we'll be in great shape. Goaltending I give us a slight edge, but if Andersen gets back to his usual form, and Pavs does the same we get even more of an edge. Gonna be a good series but this is our series.

It's so weird not having one of the least active series talk threads on the main boards. It's the second most discussed topic there, even ahead of one of the Canadian battles. Usually it's always been near the bottom for us.

I can picture it now. An Anaheim-Nashville Western Conference Final with a 5 page main board thread.

My preferred lines spot-on here. Scoring, super checking with some scoring, scoring, and a huge bruising energy line that could also see some slick Maroon passes from behind the net become Ducks' blue liner goals.
