I emailed it to Viqsi. I'm not saying you should use it - I just made it if you want to use it. From years of making them myself I can tell you it's hard to get something everyone likes, animate it, make it both funny and good looking, and fit within the very small size constraints for non-sponsors.

I just made something that was easy to adapt to many players/photos and rang true to the blue jacket logo and hopefully was easy on the eyes to last for a long playoff run. :crossfing

No feelings hurt if you toss it aside for a home grown theme.

Also from personal experience; the more effort I put into the avatars, the shorter the run. I'm superstitious like that.

All good. And an interesting last point, as I'm kinda that way myself. Thanks!

That's what it's meant to be - I want to see sharks vs. blue jackets in the finals and sorry, i want the sharks to win it all. Supporting Ohio hockey (to a point). ;)

That is what I suspected. Well done!

After the Blues (sorry, friends with Hitch's wife), SJ is my pick. I like the players and enjoy watching them. Good luck, I would like to see you in the Cup finals and you are free to beat anyone in the East outside of us... ;)

I will say, however, I hope you are supporting us because you like our team - not because you think we're food (easiest team in the East to beat).

I like it; flexible, championship series looking and sharp... Thanks RG.

You're more than welcome.

I live in Ohio and debated dropping my allegiance to the Devils to adopt the new close to home team but just couldn't bring myself to do it despite how fun it is to ride the wave from despair to greatness when it finally happens (long time Devils fan so I can tell you it's awesome). I don't think there's such a thing as "food" at this point with parity being what it is and the momentum any team can gain with just a sniff of success.

Plus it all starts with goaltending and you have that so anything is possible. ;)

Good luck.

Hmmm... Maybe I just didn't pay attention. Just figured you were a Sharks fan.

The Mild were food last season.

Thanks for your work on this. I voted no on this for the same reason as you state in the bolded sentence. It seemed like our best unified avatars (the Call to Arms ones) to start the season was the Arniel season 3 years ago that ended up just a total cluster**** of a last-place season.

Then, for the last 2 years, there has been no avatar unity and the Jackets have had their two best seasons (maybe 2 of the best 3).

Coincidence? Maybe, but I'll withhold from playoff avatar unity just in case. :)
Have at it, though, you non-superstitious types.

Jumping on the Blue Jackets bandwagon. Any graphic wiz who could whip up a Panthers/Jackets avatar for the playoff for me? :)

To whom can I send a photo to be photoshopped into a playoff avatar? Was that you, Ant, volunteering? Many thanks for the talented folks who can do that stuff, too!

Like Casey Stengel said "Dance with who brung you"

Eagerly awaiting Mayor's dissertation on the genesis of that statement and how if was originally attributed to a tweet from Custer.

It's generally attributed to the late Texas Longhorns coach Darrell Royal, but seems to be a slightly altered version of the old Southern phrase "go home with the one who brought you".

Stengel is interesting in that, despite being an overgrown child in many ways, you'll notice that a lot of pictures of him are taken of the right side of his face. The reason is that he had a huge scar on the left side trailing from his lip down to the jaw as a result of a fight with a teammate back (Ed "Whitey" Appleton) in the 1910s. The only pictures of Stengel showing that area of his face came later in life, when he was too wrinkled for it to be noticed. Of course, that does a disservice to the fact that Stengel singlehandedly resurrected platooning as a strategy, but it's an interesting story.
