Playoff Avatars?

Before the season started I suggested a Jeffersons theme. I stand by it

I like the captain idea. Can I get a photoshop of this guy? Maybe with the CBJ replacing MXC?

Since we don't have a captain, maybe something around famous captains...Kirk, Picard, America, caveman, crunch, Mcallister, stubing, hook, sparrow...

If we go this route, I have dibs on Hitchcock, er Kangaroo.

Can we work "critical" into something? (Not sure I like this idea either but...)

I'd prefer not to continue to dwell on the "Canada respect" angle personally.

I am willing to do a template to help out but I don't want the burden of customizing the template for each photo/player/theme.

If you have an in-house photoshopper that can use the template I made these. Just swap out the background photo and resize/save.

If you have another template style request I can give it a shot.

So who should I email the template to? Someone with photoshop that can switch out the photos and save in 125x125 for non sponsors and 150x150 for sponsors and then post on an image gallery to share here.

They are great (much better than anything I want to, and probably could, do); but I tend to agree they are kind of bland and don't reflect our team. What I mean by that is very generic. Maybe that's a good thing.

I'm not good at this creativity thing; but I do know we don't do things easy. Maybe our avatar should reflect that. heh

Honestly, I think 'Critical' is the thing. But I got nothing as far as how to use it and I lack PS skills.

You know the more I think about it.

Change the color and remove "Columbus Blue Jackets". Leave the playoff logo and add custom wording and picture in it's place to reflect the team or the player.

For example - if I were to do one it would be Murray with "Effortless". Someone might do Johansen with "Clutch".

As I said, I'm not good at it. But I would like seeing that. I also prefer individuality in unity. Also I could laugh if someone does JD and "Brick by Brick" or a player and "Brick".

Carry on (but not the damn flag).

I emailed it to Viqsi. I'm not saying you should use it - I just made it if you want to use it. From years of making them myself I can tell you it's hard to get something everyone likes, animate it, make it both funny and good looking, and fit within the very small size constraints for non-sponsors.

I just made something that was easy to adapt to many players/photos and rang true to the blue jacket logo and hopefully was easy on the eyes to last for a long playoff run.

No feelings hurt if you toss it aside for a home grown theme.

Also from personal experience; the more effort I put into the avatars, the shorter the run. I'm superstitious like that.

That's what it's meant to be - I want to see sharks vs. blue jackets in the finals and sorry, i want the sharks to win it all. Supporting Ohio hockey (to a point).
