Tyler Myers?

He is significantly better than he was 5 years ago. He is a legit top pairing defensemen playing 25+ minutes a night. HF really has their head buried in the sand regarding Myers. Yes, he still makes the odd mental gaffe but otherwise is very steady defensively, and can be a force rushing the puck with his size and skating ability. He was an absolute trainwreck between 2011 and 2013, but it's almost 2015 and every game I have to hear opposing announcers comment on how Myers "is looking to get back his rookie form". No, he is a much more seasoned player now who is MUCH more reliable in his own end. The offense will come as the talent up front improves. His stretch pass last night on the tying goal was a thing of beauty

this year only, so far. The last two years he's produced pretty well, and for those who pay attention, he's actually developed a decent two way game.

I watched roughly 75% of the games Semin played since 2006, including IIHF World Championships.

He was still pretty good 2 years ago (PPG winger with good 2 way upside) but this year he's completely lost.

He's still fairly young, he could turn his game around.

My point is that it's just this year. It could be nothing more than a slump. IMO he's not really lost until it's at least a full bad year. IMO he's become a much better hockey player in recent years than he ever was before.

In terms of this thread, Eric Staal fits much better, I would say. He was a 100 pt player, dominant stud, two way hard to push off the puck Team Canada stalwart.

Now he's a mediocre at best first line centre that plays fairly lazy.

I remember the time when Olli jokinen was a premier first line player in the nhl. That was when he played those last 2 years with Florida before going to Calgary. He put up like 80+ points per season and look at him now, a bum who can't put up any points much less score goals. Just astounding!

I remember seeing some proposals proposing the Sedins for Jokinen+

E.Staal is overpaid too. Since he's won the Cup and Olympic Gold in Vancouver, maybe he doesn't really care anymore.
