Projections are based on each player playing 82 games. The defensemen are particularly difficult to project because it depends on who ends up running the power plays. I'm guessing that by the end of the season, it will be Minty and Luneau.

He really does seem poised for a breakout year. I was leaning in that direction with both him and Carlsson, but I've flown too close to the sun too many times.
I felt like he was a 40-40 candidate last year and at least in preseason I liked that he was bulling around the net at times.

I’m praying for a breakout for Z but feeling pretty pessimistic about it.

Everyone on the Ducks needs to show improvement, except Vatrano who probably won’t duplicate last year.

The two that I’m concerned about are Terry and Zegras.

Terry needs to be a 30 (+) goal scorer.

Zegras is the biggest concern. He needs to be at 60+ points. Regardless of wing or center, he needs to be a “semi” responsible forward that can put up points.

The outcomes I see are:
Everyone on the team improves and the team wins more and takes a step toward the playoffs - Good for PV and Cronin

Everyone on the team improves except Zegras and they win more - Bad for Zegras.

Overall little improvement and the team is still bottom 5 - Bad for PV and Cronin. Cronin probably gone. Zegras stays.

Obviously there are all sorts of outcomes in between these.

John
