Rumor: Pius Suter to Dallas

There's 0 chance they would trade Mav for Suter. That's not much of an upgrade currently, if at all.

If they actually were working on the trade.
It would be like Blackwell and Picks if there was any roster player going back

Can't speak to the details of his game before Vancouver but as a Canuck he's been excellent in terms of being safe, reliable, strong defensively and not looking out of place wherever he's put in the lineup. Pretty much a guy all coaches would like.

But yeah, he's always gonna be around that 35 point range because of a limited talent/skill level.

Based on the deals we've seen so far, a 2nd rounder would be a fair price.

Suter is an upgrade over Bourque for this season, but you are correct in that they wont trade one of their best youngsters for a rental.

I don't know that I would go that far, Bourque since January has really taken a step forward. Before that sure, Suter was better. Today, If Suter is an upgrade, it isn't much of one, and definitely not enough to justify trading for and scratching Mav. I guess they could plan on scratching/AHL assigning Back instead.

I imagine the Canucks are looking to flip the picks anyway, so it would depend on what that 3rd team thinks lol

Oh I don't doubt we'd like him, but there isn't much room to add to our forward group already. Defense is a much more apparent priority. Just not a great fit for a trade on Dallas' end.

I wouldn't be surprised if Dallas has interest. They have 3 rookies on forward this year. All 3 are doing good in their roles, but for a team that's aiming to win a cup might be looking to add some more experience

I doubt anything happens, but i'm sure Nill checked in on the price
