He's a player I wanted the year he signed in Detroit.
He's not my first choice but I'd certainly take him.

He’s got pretty much identical stats to when he was in Chicago so not sure how much he’s “improved”.I always thought he was a nothing burger when he was on the hawks. Sounds like he has improved a bit
There's 0 chance they would trade Mav for Suter. That's not much of an upgrade currently, if at all.Hi Mavrik

2026 second? Can't speak to the details of his game before Vancouver but as a Canuck he's been excellent in terms of being safe, reliable, strong defensively and not looking out of place wherever he's put in the lineup. Pretty much a guy all coaches would like.
But yeah, he's always gonna be around that 35 point range because of a limited talent/skill level.
Based on the deals we've seen so far, a 2nd rounder would be a fair price.
Suter is an upgrade over Bourque for this season, but you are correct in that they wont trade one of their best youngsters for a rental. There's 0 chance they would trade Mav for Suter. That's not much of an upgrade currently, if at all.
If they actually were working on the trade.
It would be like Blackwell and Picks if there was any roster player going back
I don't know that I would go that far, Bourque since January has really taken a step forward. Before that sure, Suter was better. Today, If Suter is an upgrade, it isn't much of one, and definitely not enough to justify trading for and scratching Mav. I guess they could plan on scratching/AHL assigning Back instead.Suter is an upgrade over Bourque for this season, but you are correct in that they wont trade one of their best youngsters for a rental.
2026 second?
Fair enough, but which ever team ends up getting suter will LOVE him. Such a good consistent player. If the cost is a 2nd, I don't think this ends up happening. Dallas needs to add a defenseman still, and Nill has always been big about not trading away too many picks.

Yeah, that makes no sense to me. It'll just be a draft pickHemming and Bourque mentioned in this thread.
People are out to lunch. Holy smokers, can we not post realistic options/proposals???
So this whole rumour was a crock of crap?
Dont see Dallas having a need for Suter. Bogus rumor, FACT
Wasn’t the rumour connected to the Stars still playing and there would be something announced after the game finished? The rumour was that they were discussing a deal, just because it hasn't happened yet doesn't mean that wasn't true.

do they really need another forward lol?
Back, Blackwell, Maverick Bourque all In press box.
2 other Vancouver reporters have said there is no imminent trade."Dallas is currently playing New Jersey so a trade might be finalized once that game is done."
