He is way more ready than Yager still. He’s been a ppg in his last 20 AHL games.Pittsburgh flipping Yager for him and now reportedly wanting "NHL ready prospects" would kinda indicate that they also thought this, wouldn't it?
Rakell would be your leading your team in both goals and points.
Because Friedman didn't give any more specifics beyond what was posted in the OP.
32 Thoughts: How record revenues in NHL could impact salary cap, next CBA
When it comes to future salary ceilings in the NHL, we might be getting some clarity beyond 2025-26. Elliotte Friedman has that, fallout from the McDavid suspension, J.T. Miller updates and more on this week's 32 Thoughts blog.www.sportsnet.ca
11. With all of the noise around the Penguins, I believe they have interest in some of Buffalo’s younger, NHL-ready prospects. It fits what they want.
I could actually see Pettersson making some sense then, but it would have to come at the same time as a Byram trade for some forward help.
Maybe Pettersson with an extension for Rosen and a pick followed immediately by Byram for a 2nd line center or something like that. Run with Pettersson-Dahlin as your top pair and use Byram to fill the top-6 C (or W) opening.
I think Friedman got wind of trade talks, and not just somebody who was like “I heard Pittsburgh won’t stop bugging Buffalo about their AHL prospects”Penguins-
I dont ...peterson is not a right shooting Dman and hes a UFA at the end of the year
I do not srr BUF and PIT as good trade partners
BUF is looking for a RD and a mid 6 C.
Hey no need to be generous, that's only 3, max 3.5 top-6 forwards lolIn their last game, the Sabres played Kulich (12 points in 33 games) and Kozak (1 point in 8 games) in their top-6. Even with Zucker healthy (seems like he was out), it seems like Buffalo only has 5 top-6 forwards between Thompson, Cozens, Tuch, Zucker and Peterka. And in Cozen's case, he's not really performing well as a top-6 guy.
I really struggle to see how Buffalo doesn't need another top-6 winger, or at minimum wouldn't pretty clearly benefit from getting another top-6 winger. It may not be top-4 defensive RD or 2C level importance, but it still pretty clearly looks like a massive hole to me.
IMO what they should do is that Cozens and Byram for Pettersson trade, bring in Rakell for futures and run with a Rakell-Pettersson-Tuch line. That looks like a damn good line to me and it leaves Zucker-Thompson-Peterka as their L2.

Outsider perspective...Rakell is exactly what Buffalo could use more of.Rackell feels a little over the hump for the Sabres. As much as he seems useful this season he will be 32. 34 or 35 when contract expires. As a team trying to ENTER the playoff window he might be bad before we ever really compete.
My assumption is Ostlund or Rosen, and Ryan Johnson on defense (paws off hes mine).
I'm a sabres fan too..I said Pettersson with an extension in that deal. Not only that, but other Sabres fans have said Dahlin can slide to RD and allow Pettersson to stay on LD.
I can see Adams selling high on Zucker then replacing him with a Bunting type.Pens have nothing that the Sabres would need/want.
