Proposal: Pittsburgh - St. Louis

MAF has faced more shots per game than all but two goalies this season.
I'm not his biggest fan and want him traded from the Pens because of the other guy we have, but he most certainly would be a major upgrade for the Blues.

A soon to be 32 year old, with many stylistic similarities to Allen, and who has inconsistency issues of his own. Yep, sounds like a great plan, sounds like the Ryan Miller plan. Our problems are much bigger than goaltending. Things we need to fix first include coaching, system, upgrade at center, better play during 5v5, and some others.

I'm not convinced that's he's not yet, certainly not enough to trade him now.

Getting MAF will be the same as when we got Ryan Miller which was a disaster.

And we were told by so many Buffalo fans that we needed Miller and once we got him our team would be so much better and we'd be Cup favorites.

Yeah...that worked out great.

Allen would be far too expensive to play backup or even 1B goalie for the Pens. His cap hit goes up to 4.35 million from 2017 to 2021. Unless we already knew Las Vegas will be taking him this trade won't help Pittsburgh much other than allowing them to protect Murray.
