The fact that the players are old don't mean anything. Crosby and Malkin are still first line centers. Letang is still a top pair defenseman. They have decent depth. Blomqvist is a fine goalie. Sullivan is the problem

Signing Karlsson was a pretty big mistake. Should have gone with a sid and Malkin led youth movement. Seems they refuse to rebuild as long as sid is still there. People always think it's the coach but it's usually the players.

Probably not this year. But that dude has had his fingerprints on the roster for the last several... er, half decade.

A new coach might actually value scoring, playing a system befitting of the roster - or even some physicality on the team.

Not sure why Dubas was such a priority when Sullivan continues to [seemingly] make all hockey decisions.

Should have been fired after the Montreal play-in. If they're looking for *THE* reason, there's just not going to be one. There's been several dozen that have come and gone. He needs to go because he's stale, doesn't fit the mold here anymore, and is not driving the bus towards any measure of success. Oh - and he's awful with youth players so even if you consider the 'future' - he doesn't really fit that either. A blowout or losing streak is arbitrary at this point. It's been his roster for a while now that has been mediocre or downright bad. Same recipe year in and out since 2018....only everyone is now older and the rest of the league/division got stronger.
