Can't complain much about the season so far with only one regulation loss while dealing injuries. No need to rush Kopi back, and hopefully Gabby and Lewis will be ready to go soon.

Penguins power play is at a whopping 40.6%. Hopefully, the Kings' PK continues to be as good as it has been.

Haven't heard anything about David Van der Gulik - just speculating here - but he has a $550K hit, fwiw

Per CBA, for an emergency recall, team would be provided lg minimum + 100K of space (650K). Weal's cap hit is 610K, not counting bonus.

Heard from hockey ops that LA may not be able to recall Weal. Salary + bonus would put him over the minimum salary. Team checking w/ league

Like many posters here, upon reflecting on the first three weeks of the year, the fact this team with injuries, suspensions, man down issues, are in 2nd place in the league with 1 game less played is admirable. Hopefully in the near future they have all able bodies on deck and the road will be a bit easier.

This is a great start for them, and if they don't lose anybody else and cut down on the SOG they should fare pretty well on the road trip.

Exactly. I'm thrilled with how this has gone so far. Partially because it has also showcased how when one part of our team is struggling, another picks it up. Was really hoping Weal would get a cup of coffee now too.

Unfortunately, losing points in front of the east coasters means we have to deal with the Kopitar/Doughty/Quick are overrated garbage some more...but I like sneaking up on people in the playoffs anyway :P

Have to imagine Kopitar and Lewis are really close. Gaborik I hope they take their time with. But if no one is going on LTIR despite being out a long time, I'll take that as a positive.

Good to see all the boys out there practicing. Would be nice if Lewis and Kopi were both back on Thursday.

Full team practice today. Kopitar, Gaborik, Lewis taking part. No surprises on the ice personnel-wise.

I'm thinking that's what is going to happen; that we won't need an emergency call-up.

@reallisa: Lewis and Kopitar close to returning but obv not going to take a chance at this stage.

I want them in the lineup really badly but the boldfaced is REALLY good to hear. DOn't need people rushing back and aggravating things.
