1st (22OA)
+ Rust (5M or @50% -> 2.5M | 2 years left)
and/or
+ Rakell (5.1M or @50% -> 2.5M | 2 years left)

Either (OR BOTH) of our top-6 25+ goal scorers plus our 22OA to move up in the draft. Ideally we would like anything inside the top 10. They're already cheap - making 5M'ish each respectively for what they bring (which is very consistent)... would retain on either or both to make it happen.

I'd happily ship the 22OA + just about whatever to get inside the top 10 and accelerate the youth movement. Rust + Rakell to a contender for 5M would be a hell of an off-season get for any team.

No team ahead of the Penguins is going to trade back to get a later 1st and Rakell/Rust.

McGroarty and picks #22 and #39 might get you up to #8-#10, but that's about the highest I can realistically see the Penguins getting.

Last year Penguins got 22 and 31 for 12 so to get top 10 Rust/Rakell would provide more value to a team picking there than the 31st pick

No way the Penguins get Bjorck if thats what you are asking. It’d have to be 22nd oa + next years 1st + Rust or something like that

3 1sts for a top 10 is unrealistic. Rust with no trade protections and super low cap hit nets an easy late 1st at either this or next TDL.

Outside of the top 5 I think most picks are going to be somewhat available.

Both these guys are going to produce at the new 7-9M range. 2 years of either/both at either 5M or 2.5M is valuable to most teams remotely in the hunt.

Bjorck doesn’t likely get to pick 9. Pick 22 doesn’t hold that much value and future picks are even less valuable.

Rakell could fill in nicely for Troy Terry while he recovers from hip surgery but I fear Rakell will just mail it in like last time in Anaheim and play with 50% effort and heart. That said I bet he'd be excited to play with Leo Carlsson so maybe that would motivate him to give more effort.

Fish don't fry in the kitchen
Beans don't burn on the grill
Took a whole lotta tryin'
Just to get up that hill

Now we're up in the big leagues
Gettin' our turn at bat
As long as we live
It's you and me, baby
There ain't nothin' wrong with that

Well we're movin' on up

Actually, Rakell back to Anaheim is an interesting idea, especially with Terry out for a bit. Rakell can replace him on the top line and then revert to the third line once Terry is back. Shift Veil to the 4th line to fill the hole of Harkins. That would be a pretty deep top 9 honestly. Just wish Anaheim had their 1st this year.

Those 2 and 22 will not get you anywhere closely top 10.

Islanders 13 for the Pens 22 and 39 and 86 pick in the draft. Pens can then package the 13 with (black?) to get into top10 - maybe Seattle’s 7th
This us a good offer.

It just depends on the dragt perspective of quality available.

If there us s big drop at 14, nobody does it. If many view 13-27 as being similar , then it could be fone.

I think if who the Penguins want to select moving up is there at 13, I would do that. I'm not sure I would add extras on top of that to move up again.

Just deal Rust and/or Raks for picks and use those to try moving up
I generally agree...

At some point us near impossible to get into top 10.

An early 20s+ decent 3nd round pick+ 2/3 round pick could move you about 8 spots into the 13-15/ range.

Moving up 2-× spots will cost you additional 2nds
