To Pitt:
JVR
Lehtonen

To Dal:
Fleury
Kunitz

To Tor:
Sprong
Dallas 1st 17'
Pitt 2nd 17'

*Pitt gets a top line LW and can protect Murray in expansion draft
*Dal gets a better goalie and a veteran winger to solidify a cup run
*Tor gets a good wing prospect and 1st, 2nd round picks

Not interested from a Leaf standpoint.
We need JVR more than Sprong. Sprong is not something we have a specific area of weakness.
We have a host of young wingers, Marner,Nylander(C and W),Brown,Hyman,Soshnikov,Leivo,Lindberg that are unproven like Sprong and need a chance to show their skills.
Leafs have enough draft picks, we need a RHD.

So dallas solves their overpaid crappy goalie situation by adding a slightly better mediocre high priced goalie and an aging winger that most pens fan hated all of last season

Looks like Pitt runs away with this.

I would not do this deal.

1. JVR is not really on the market despite the countless proposal you see with him made by our trade happy fans.

2. Both picks are owned by good teams so we are talking a late 1rst and late 2nd. Does not seem like good value. We are not exactly desperate for picks.

Yes, Pittsburgh wins the deal here at 1st glance but Fleury's a better goalie option for Dallas than Lehtonen or Niemi.

As Mentioned giving up our only good LWer right now who also has size and is on a good contract for a prospect on our strong side, who likely never becomes as good, and two late picks. No interest from the Leafs at all.

We don't need depth prospects. We don't need 2nd liner prospects. We need either elite prospects in whatever position, or top 4 RD prospects. We have so many players who will be good enough as at least 2nd liners and below.

Doubt Dallas does this, Pretty sure that Dallas will be eyeing Bishop instead plus he doesn't have to be protected in the expansion draft as he's a pending UFA in 2017. If i'm Jim Nill i'm talking to Steve Yzerman trying to work out a deal and bring Bishop to Dallas not MAF.

Only way Toronto agrees is if tanking is the agenda this coming season and I doubt it is.
Sprong = another in a long list of winger prospects
Dallas 1st, 25-30 range
Pittsburgh 2nd, 50-60 range.
That's really not good for their only experienced 1st line winger on a good contract.

Leafs have lots of picks and prospects and centers and wingers and LHD. So no.

This seems to be pretty bad for everybody. Pens aren't in a position to give up their best prospect, 3 seconds (assuming Fleury = 2 2nds) and Kunitz for JVR.

I'd be happy to give up a first in order to exchange Kari for Fluery; not sure if I'd be quite as happy to take on Kunitz in addition to that. But maybe I could be convinced.

JVR is not worth an elite goaltender, a future top 6 winger, a solid 2nd/3rd line veteran, a 2nd round pick, and taking back an absolutely horrific goaltending contract.

Fleury being labeled as an elite goaltender is laughable.

Leafs aren't interested in giving up one of their few proven top 6 forwards (JVR) for a maybe future top 6 forward and draft picks.
Leafs have lots of wingers who can be maybe future top 6 forwards. They also have lots of draft picks.
We need defense.

Hence why this deal is horrendous.

You know what, fine. Value Fleury how ever much you like. But I still think a future top 6 winger, a solid 2nd/3rd liner, a 2nd round pick, and taking back a monstrously horrific goaltending contract is way too much for JVR.

You'd be better off to deal Fleury separately (if you think he's being lost in expansion) and I doubt Kunitz is moved at this time.
