Pitlick played well for us last year in a tank year but this year is not really a tank year and his play is not that great (like Dadonov). Sorry Pitlick but performance is how we decide.

Who cares. Hoffman, Drouin, Pitlick, Dadonov, Armia. Some are playing better than others but we owe nothing to them. It's business

Surpassed everyone's expectations last year but he's been invisible this year. Hope he finds his mojo back either in Laval or somewhere else.

Have to imagine a team will claim him.
Pitlick had 37 pts in 66 games last season and has a good contract.

Might be why it's Pitlick they are putting on waivers because they likely want him to be claimed. Clears out a little cap and a roster spot.

Hughes has tried to test the market and no bites. Best to put someone on waivers that might get claimed.

Having actual top 6 options makes him.. less desirable. He doesn't have a game suited for the bottom 6. Seems like he's fallen into the same trap he did with his previous teams.

I could see Washington putting in a claim with all their injuries, but the second year isn't great.

I don't think he'll be claimed mainly due to being owed $1.1M on the second year of his contract.

Would've preferred Drouin, Dadonov or Hoffman being waived, but Pitlick has been absolutely terrible this year.

Well that's the main aim of putting someone on waivers...that another team claims them.

Or you're trying to sneak someone through for your AHL team.

Rem was good last year but the talent level and competition is higher this year and although one could argue Hoffman, Drouin or Dadonov should have been waived first.

It wouldn't help the Habs roster crunch...Pitlick, one way or another, will.

Like many Habs fans we expected way more from Pitlick up to this point. We also knew his stats last season and his shooting percentage would not be the norm.
You have kids in Laval who have paid their dues such as RHP and Ylonen. I think RHP would be the perfect 4th liner.

No major loss, if he doesn’t clear. You can always find Pitlicks on waivers when they’re not busy throwing their stick into the crowd. :sarcasm:

I don't think Hughes wants him to be claimed. If he's in the ahl, then pretty much his whole cap hit won't count. He would contribute a lot to Laval who has had a bad start to the season.

I think Pitlick being waived is pretty ideal for this reason. He needs to play and get some key offensive minutes. His play right now doesnt help us at all and his confidence seems a bit shot. At worst, we gain a contract spot if he is claimed.

Now let see if the 3 deadwoods get some fire lit under them since they are next in line for the waiver wire once Matheson is ready to come back in a few weeks..

In the end, it means that nobody wants our Bergie crap. Or that it could take MUCH longer to deal them. Hence having to put on waivers a serviceable guy.
