But using a HF poll where most fans who don't follow the Pens believe Guentzel's basically a third liner without Crosby isn't exactly going to be a neutral measurement.
A lot of it!like that we locked him up, but he should send some of that money to Sid.
Probably paying a bit more based on who he plays with and riding the percentages a bit, but he's a good, young player and you aren't going to get those guys locked up much under a 6 mil AAV anymore.
So he can score 75 points this year and 70-80 points the next two years and then you have to sign him to a 8/9 million dollar a year deal?!??! HF “brilliance” at work UGHI would have given him a two-year bridge deal.
I would have given him a two-year bridge deal.
Brutal for the Penguins, when they re-sign him two years later when he's better.
Well this screws us over when it comes to Kyle Connor
Say what? One guy is on a 75 pt pace and the other [ Nylanderv] is on a 19 pt pace.Makes Nylander's contract look pretty good
this thread isn't about Nylander.I mean... Nylander is a better player than Guentzel, so that kinda doesn't help your point that he's not overpaid.
this thread also isn't about Larkin.I wonder if the, "People who rarely watch Guentzel" argument could be the reason you don't get why Larkin is better.
By the way, I'm not saying Guentzel would be bad without Crosby... He's just not on Larkin's level.
this thread isn't about Nylander.
this thread also isn't about Larkin.
i have a few of them on my ignore list so i didn't know about this. You should probably track the conversation then because I said multiple times to create a separate thread and the Pens fan wanted to keep it going in here.
Heh, I'm done de-railing this thread. I'd be much more content with the poll results. I'll put it up since you wont.
Some risk, due to the “Crosby effect” making mediocre wingers look great... until they don’t have Crosby as their centre.
However he is young and has looked great this year, so there is also the chance he really outperforms this contract.
A bit of a high-risk, high reward contract, but for the information we have right now the AAV seems fair for the Penguins.
