The ol' "we were gonna put him on waivers and wanted to see if he'd get claimed and so we got... something I suppose" price.

Whether he can make it or not, at least he MIGHT get a chance with the Pens. Although from the comments here, maybe another perma-scratch.
Might?

Lol. I admire your optimism without understanding the situation he's going into. Whatever issues two coaches had with his play away from the puck, he's about to wish he quit hockey first before having the Sullivan experience.

Trotz as a GM reminds me of Mike Holmgren when he was GM of the Browns
Trotz is like the bloke that gets naked when a woman asks him to walk her to the door out of safety and completely misreads the situation. Brunette showed them promise last year and he threw his entire plan out the window and got buck wild and lost the plot.

He is about 8-10 years too young for Sully’s liking. Gotta be in your 30s to play top 6 for him.
Tomasino is like a not as quick poor man's version of Beauvillier, except he wishes he could have that kind of career.

Sullivan gets engorged for those types. He'd rather have more of these "remember when we had.." Types over anyone in wbs that should get a shot on a team that is rebuilding but acts like they aren't.

Preds getting a 4th is probably the winner in this.

Brunette lucked out when we won like 17 games in a row.

Mate he can't fluke what he did in Florida or the impact he had in New Jersey. Brunette is a good coach that was there to coach a rebuild and Trotz got horned out and signed 3 big names and traded away a future #1.

I remember when I was debating who I liked more between Tomasino and McMichael after they were picked back to back in the 2019 draft....

Low risk, decent reward upside trade for Pitts.
Ironically, the Pens just sent down 2019 1st round pick Samuel Poulin to make room for this move.

Without our miraculous win streak we don't sniff the playoffs last year and we're in the same spot we are currently.
Which is palatable and actually where you should be except without blowing a shit load of cap space on Skjei, Marchessault, and Stamkos. They could have used the cap space at the deadline to add more picks to utilize cap space for teams.

What Trotz did was bizarre. He got a taste of unexpected success and just went all in and now he's acting like if they don't behave he'll take the toys away that they never asked for lol.

wow, I can't believe Pen fans are complaining about this deal. Give him to us (isles)....gladly give you a 4th.
It's not the deal, per se. It's the overall construction of this roster where Dubas keeps adding these random players but won't move anyone out. So we end up seeing half of them healthy scratched because the moronic coach refuses to play anyone under the age of 30.

Mcmichael is the far better player. The difference is CMM worked on his overall game and hasn't had reports of work ethic issues. Connor has hockey sense, can't teach that to Tomasino. Either he has it or he doesn't and he just doesn't.

I'd have rather kept Poulin up and called up Bemstrom or Koivunen instead.

The moronic coach refuses to play anyone from wbs in positions to succeed more than anything. He prefers junk from other teams get the best shot possible and when they fail, even more of a shot, then finally whine to Werner that the GM screwed him over.

Seems like Tomasino was productive when he played. Could be a big win for Pens
Stat watching is never a good way to make assumptions about a player's effectiveness.
