Good win, the kind of game this team needs to lock down if there's any prayer at all.
If you want to do BS mental math, you can flip 2 Ls to the W column from that wretched Miami series and we'd be a perfectly mediocre 10-10. Losing series to better teams but still showing some fight. I'm not quite there yet to do the optimistic BS mental math and dismiss the early series/what is obvious from just watching this team (they are bad in the exact same way the post-ASB 2024 team was bad), but it's still 5-5 in the last 10. Palatable at least.
Cleveland is an interesting series since they are clearly better than us, even if we don't go in with the well-ingrained cynicism of the current season. It's a series where you get a Skenes start, and you have to assume that as a W, meaning 1-1 in the other two games continues to build some decent momentum.
It does seem like the attempted beanball on Cutch has served as a kind of spark to really unite the team, so whatever works. Cutch even talked about it in some postgame comments last night.
