OT: Pirates Talk: Lets Play Ball

It really is insane, that during the shitty economic times we're in, you can be such abject failures like Cherington and Shelton, and continue to be employed.

Say what you will about Tomlin and Sullivan (both deserve to be canned as well) but they at least have major bullet points on their resumes, namely championship(s).

More boneheaded base running by the Bucs. This time, Hayes gets an RBI and rounds 1st too far and is promptly thrown out by the Nat's catcher.

Is he always that stunned of a baserunner? I tuned into this game as it's the first one on.

A thought on the regression from 2023.

If you asked a Pirates fan what their lineup for 2025 would be as of the end of 2023, they may say something like (at least 1-7)

C Rodriguez
RF Reynolds
ss Cruz
3B Hayes
DH Davis
CF good acquisition
RF Suwinski

So the fact that #1, #5, and #7 are having their careers implode and who knows with #4, and the acquisitions just ended up becoming IKF and Horowitz who is hurt...

Like basically all the worst outcomes happened. Really badly managed organization along with putting bets on the wrong players especially Davis and Suwinski

I am kind of hoping that Horwitz is not able to play at all this season because 1) it would mean Nutting paid money to a guy who did not play a single game and 2) it would likely lead to Cherington being canned.

Yeah it's pretty much we lost on every gamble for half a decade, at least

Honestly they should just run with this the entire year. Better than crap like Valdez and Canario getting ABs just fail with it and maybe they improve with consistent playing time.
